Many of you will have noticed that we are increasingly being plagued by Spam members and posts.
We have been monitoring the 'new' members and getting up to 30 a day of which 28/29 are spammers.
We have therefore decided to introduce an approval system for new members - guests trying to join will have their registration interrupted and an email is sent to all the staff - much like when a member hits the 'report' button.
Staff are directed to a link where they can see the prospective new member and if they think it is genuine they can click an 'approve' button.
To all guests who may read this we wish to say that this is not what we wanted, but the sheer volume of spam is ruining our genuine members enjoyment and we feel forced to act.
If you have been browsing the site already I am sure you will feel it is worth a bit of a wait to get approved.
Our staff coverage across the globe and time zones is pretty comprehensive and we hope that in most cases genuine applications will be approved within a couple of hours.

Spambots and New Memberships

Today many websites are protesting SOPA which is an anti-piracy bill working its way through the American Congress. Since many of our visitors are from other regions outside the USA and have no voice to confront this restrictive legislation it would be pointless to join the protest and shut down for a day. I do plead with my fellow Americans visiting the site, contact your representatives and share your thoughts with them on SOPA, the more they hear from you, the less likely they will support such an ugly proposal.

Warhammer Empire monthly painting competition - 2012 - Entries Thread

In view of the successes of last year, the painting competition continues.
Themes for 2012 :
Februari : Wizard on foot (Due March 1st)
March : Templar Grand Master
April : War machine
May : 5 missile troops
June : Unit filler
The categories not included in this list (eg siege cannon...) will get their turn second half of the year, hopefully after their release in June (rumoured).
Entries can be made by replying in this thread. Maximum of 3 entries per forum member(Sorry Steveb).

The assignment for December is : Imperial General.
Mind you, this could be an Arch Lector, Grand Master or even a wizard.
Important thing is that it's clear that he leads an army, so that must show from his pose or attire.

I completely forgot to announce this.
Lots of reasons, none you should care about.
The assignment for November is : Army Standard bearer. Because of my sloppiness, you get some extra days in December.
