True...but my fluff dictates that I side with the Sigmarites, just like last time.  However, it is a good point to make.

Edit:  I see, looks like I'll be in the Sigmarite Empire.  Wouldn't Averland be included in that mix as well?

Averland wasn't mentioned in the above description, but due to it's location with Stirland, Wissenland, and Reikland nearby, and similar political motivations, I can see no reason why they wouldn't be apart of the Sigmarite Empire

I'm going to have to refluff and get some characters from Karl's history to be involved in this...the war of the 3 kings was a long time ago...

Aww, that hurts Wyzer...a dagger, a dagger in my heart.

It's ok, good stout men such as Karl Voss have given me a new appreciation for Averlanders, and the hope that not all of them are foppish sissies *Cough* Wyzer *Cough*.  Now, we must put our transgressions aside (for a while) and take it to all the other people...

And yes, I as well will have to come up with a new character in the Olenbay line.

Hmm... I suppose my Reiksguard army would be a huge anachronism during this campaign... time to make up a new order  :smile2:

That would complicate things immensely. :icon_biggrin:  I could see it going either way really, but that'll be something for the staff to decide.  And, as BAWTRM has mentioned, there's nothing binding anyone to any one faction.

If I'm not mistaken, this won't be limited to just a Lorenz setting.  Any game you can get in will be allowed, gaming groups, pick up somewhere, battle with a significant other (warhammer battle that is).  If it's anything like Ostermark Succession then it won't be like Hour of the Wolf either.

It's will be a fair bit like a campaign that you would play with a regular gaming group, only it is online. You play games of Warhammer with your army and then the result changes a factions of control of regions on a map. Instead of a singular GM there is a team to head up the many parts of the campaign that need to be run.

If anyone played in the Storm of Chaos campaign it is a lot like that, only much more variable in what can happen.

What? Why? Why would a southern Imperial province side with a small sub faction in the far north?

I'm going to have to rethink some fluff here, this is quite a few years ago (like 200 right?) so I'm sure politics are a little different. Were this taking place in modern times, a split between whether to obey religion or the nobles that Karl is loyal too would be very splitting. Hopefully the historical documents behind the campaign will clear some things up, just make sure that they fit current GW fluff so provinces and leaders will act accordingly.

Now...Off to the fluff drawing board!

Far north? Marienburg is located to the west.

From where my character lives, the town is still far to the north and west by several hundred miles. That is almost like Switzerland marching to war on on Belgium. I don't think Averland would be allied with anyone that far away, especialy with the the armies of Wissenland, Stirland, Reikland all around. Averland would probably march to war with the other southern provinces.

I don't think it's so strange, and that sort of geography of alliances isn't really uncommon in the real world: two allies split between a common enemy. Their opponent is what's important, and distance from each other can actually be beneficial, since they will not be directly competing for each other's land/resources.

For one real world example: France + Russia have been frequent historic allies. (Ignore that Napoleon march on

Distant Allies of course have historical precedent. France and Russia often teamed up to wail upon the Holy Roman Empire/Prussia/Austria/whatever was between them. That would be like Talabecland and Averland teaming up on Stirland. Sandwiched in the middle Stirland would be in trouble. I'm just saying it's a little far fetched for a strongly Sigmarian province so far away from the area to ally with a little dissident.

Actually that map might be a bit leaned to the left. North would be towards Kislev i think.

I demand a rethink

Nordland and Kislev on the same side - that means I have to fight with Rufas.

But... they're in the Talabec faction if I read this right - wait a bit...

Guys, this is a great Christmas present! I've been unable to check the site for some days, and then this happens! Luckily Wissenlander already told me about it, or I might just have fallen from my chair from excitement and surprise (yes I might be foaming at the mouth a bit right now - but only a little ).

If you still need any help, feel free to ask. I was going to help with the Warvault campaign, but this is higher on my list.

Hopefully this helps some. It's going to be along march Northeast to Marienburg. At least 500 miles according to the scale...

I stand corrected. Maybe Averland would have an interest in Joining Reikland because trade on the Reik is important to them?...

Actually that may be better... The frozen ground is easier to travel and there are no crops to tend to back home. Fewer disease carrying mosquitoes too.

Wait, why am I saying this? No no no... anyone planning on invading should do so in August. That's tourist season in fun-filled Marienburg. Come see our new "water park." We'll be waiting for you. (...on the battlements.... with guns.)

Anyway, it's a little premature to judge the fluff based on a preview. Why not hold the complaints until there is something substantial to complain about?
