Never Released Flagellant Commend Models
« on: November 19, 2010, 02:40:13 PM »
Hi All,

Interesting one here for you.......... I always watch e bay for OOP Empire models, for 18 months now.

The other week a guy was selling 2 Flagellant concept metal models, which were never released.

One standard bearer , one Prophet of Doom.

Obviously there is no standard bearer in the rulebook anyway!

I spoke with him on e bay and he said he was at a GW conference in the USA during the 1990's and they had sculpted and tooled up the models for release, and gave some out.

Anyway, they changed tact and opted for a different design or scrapped the idea.

Has anyone ever seen these?!

I started bidding, and it was a Friday night, I drank red wine and bid all the way up to £90 for the 2 units, before I quit!!!

I was gutted in truth

I've never heard of them.

Try asking on Frothers:

Someone there will be able to tell you more.

I got pipped , i think i bid 88 or less , then sobered up and realised whoever won was in it regardless of the price!

Obviously there is no standard bearer in the rulebook anyway!

If the models were made in the 90s they were obviously not made for current rules. :) by 4th and 5th edition rules all regiments could have a standard and musician and champions were bought from the Character allowance and could carry a magic item.  I used the Disciples of the Red Redemption command. (Still do actually although only the Prophet counts.)  Cool find though.

Wow... that auction should go in the ebay mockery thread  :engel:

Looks cool, but I can't help but think what else could be bought with 90 quid...

Worth it to find out if they were even GW? The picture is not big enough to tell what it says on the slot for the slotta base and even thats not proof they are GW. Then again £90 does seem like a GW price... :icon_biggrin:
