So lovely. Can't wait. But I am supposed to be doing new skaven not more men. Hmm. Will this hobby ever end?

Definately going to be very useful for ALL SORTS OF THINGS Empire wise. They go well with a lot of the Empire plastics size wise, so even more conversion possibilities.

A wonderful alternative to the frankly gash empire handgunners we've had to put up with for the last couple of editions

Man, first WF announces their amazons, now these...  the price is really appealing too!

Can you imagine an empire army put together with these figures... They look fantastic... :icon_eek: Perfect for Renaissance gaming.

Did they say 40 figures in 1 box?

Excellent figures

Dont know about an Empire army ( I prefer the old slash and puff look ) but would definetly use them for a DoW army.

Caliver have this picture up on their site, and a price of £16.00

Quote
   Description:
"40 Hard Plastic Figures. There is a fair amount of variety of arm/weapon choice, allowing you to make up to 18 pikemen, up to twelve crossbowmen, and up to twelve handgunners plus four command. In addition, there are twelve pavises, 15 bucklers/targes, drum arms, two-handed sword arms, and swords in scabbards."

Still nothing on the actual Perry site though?

Nice.. I think that's every one of our infantry options covered now. There's enough extras in that new box to cover swordsmen, crossbows and greatswords in addition to the handgunners and spears.

I think I'm gonna go for a bunch of these instead now, I just can't be affording hordes of 50 infantry at GW prices anymore.. that kind of "£400-£500 per army" money gets spent on a new car, or a deposit on a house, not on toy soldiers. :P

The command and men at arms models make great greatswords. They even have proper full plate armour. Pole arms and greatswords are all double handed weapons.

Two boxes of these will really finish off my border princes DOW/Empire army. The new medium cavalry are great two. Although a unit of 15 will be £37.50 Same as 80 infantry and change.
There are 40 different shades of black, so many fortresses and ways to attack.

So why you complaining!

I have bitten the bullet and pre-ordered a box from Maelstrom. The sprues are on TMP to see and look great.

Will add 18 to my pike horde, making 46, and a unit of xbows  and handgunners. all for £16.20

I need another box of mercenaries and a bill and bow set now

they're so nice, I'm definitely getting some.

I like the sprues. It's nice that there's a drummer this time.

And bucklers too. And pavaises.

Perry Mercenaries Sprues

Command Sprue

Trooper Sprue

You get 2 Command and 3 Trooper Sprues

List of all the bits

Quote
40 x torsos (36 from WR 1)
60 x heads (36 from WR 1)
18 x pikes with arms
18 x left arms for above
12 x crossbows with arms
6 x left arms for above
12 x handguns with arms
3 x left arms for above
12 x crossbow quivers (3 with windlass and 3 with cranequin attached)
15 x targes/bucklers
12 x pavises (2 types)
12 x polearm heads (4 types)
2 x drums and arms
2 x drum stick arms
2 x hand and a half sword arms
2 x left arms for above
12 x swords in scabbards
4 x scabbards
2 x standard pole arms
2 x mace arms
4 x sword arms
2 x dagger arms
2 x command arms

It looks like the bodies on the Trooper sprue are the same as in the first WotR set. There seems to be a bit of this happenning in the plastics market - sprues are made in 'sections' which can be combined differently.

This set looks very good, it's not puffy enough to my taste but the actual GW troopers are wearing pyjamas anyway so this time it's a clear win for Perry's minis!

I must resist until I have painted the 80 state troopers sitting on my desk...
