It is the weekend after Easter weekend - Good Friday is April 22nd and Easter Monday is April 25th

Venue will again be St Niklaas.
Other details will be added as they are finalised and confirmed

Attending:

Definites
WarhammerLord Soth
Aldaris
Midaski
Sir Bedevere the Wise
Obi
Marek
Finlay
FR1DAY
rufus sparkfire
Fandir
StealthKnightSteg
Cisse

Probables
Novogord
Gneisenau

Possibles
Mogsam
commandant
Warhammer Weib
White Knight
Shavixmir
Vincent of Vega

If you wish to be added to the list, please post in the thread and I will update as we get closer.
To help Soth negotiate a good deal at the Hotel, it would be helpful if people confirm as soon as they can.

Several people are travelling to the venue on Friday 29th (UK Bank Holiday for the Royal Wedding) and leaving on Tuesday May 3rd.
However not everybody is staying all 4 nights.

Hotel Choices and Rates start to be discussed on Page 6 towards the bottom.

'Gaming intensity' is entirely up to you - in previous years some people have played 3 games a day, and others one.

Ok, since I'm a single guy again, maybe looking at this as a possibility makes sense for this upcoming year.  I'd definitely be needing to do it on the cheap and have no idea how much a plane flight is going to cost, yet not giving this some consideration seems stupid.

Also, wondering how fast I can get a passport.

Round trip Detroit -> Amsterdam is ~$1500 GP. That was booked a month and a half in advance though, so if you booked soon it could be cheaper.

That is crazy expensive. I booked my flight to Boston for about €600 last year and 400 the year before that (but that was probably still in low season).

Fair enough. In that case I'll see to it that I get the time off.

By the way... do we have the same option as last year where most people already arrived the day before and left the day after, meaning travel on friday and leaving on tuesday?

Some feedback would be appreciated to my above question concerning another "Eurobash: extended Edition" with extra travel days. I liked this a lot last time and would love to know if the rest of the (potential) attendees would be on board for this as well - the sooner I know, the sooner I can grab the time off (and the time around Easter is usually popular...)

This is absolutely perfect timing for me.

the 29th is an extra bank holiday in britain due to the royal wedding.
It turns out to mean something like 14 days off for booking 3 days leave.
May 4th is my birthday, so I was going to book time off anyway, either during the sweet extended easter, or just after.
I don't care about the rules.

Pass the machete.

Also, wondering how fast I can get a passport.

The estimated time is 3 months, or at least I think that's the maximum estimated time.  I believe I got mine in about a month's time after submitting it, but I think it depends on how backlogged the passport department is.  If you get started now you should get it on time I'd imagine.

1: How viable is it to get to St Niklaas from Brussels Airport? It appears to be only 50km or so, but the Belgian rail website is quoting me between 2 and 3 hours? Does that sound about right?

2: Are the dates likely to change?

Cheer up, could be worse.

It is pretty easy. If I remember correctly, last year I have arrived to Charleroi airport at 16:20 (scheduled arrival was 16:45 though) and I got to St. Niklaas around  19:40. You will loose some time changing trains. Also, the trains are rather comfortable, at least compared to those steam powered tin cans in Slovakia.

Unless something unexpected happens (like the inquisition), I will arrive. Though in worst case I will be staying only for the weekend, which I dearly hope not. I sincerely want to drink myself under the table with some fine company.

Also- Charleroi Airport is named Brussels South most of the time. It's actually quite a bit further than the actual Brussels airport, but like Bedevere says it's manageable. If necessary you can also travel via Amsterdam, that's only a couple of hours by train (2-3 I guess).

Roughly the same flight (if I booked it today) would be more expensive by about $50. I think it's more the time of year (July...) than anything else.

Edit: It is. Just changing the date parameters it would be $1050ish. So actually reasonable. (My dad has ridiculous amounts of miles, hence why I was able to afford the other).

Also, I would love to come, but that's finals week...

@GP

6 weeks is average.

I think guys from Holland came into Antwerp and then to St Niklaas - it's around 15 miles i think. Try Brussels to Antwerp.

Of course Finlay is coming up from Exeter so he could come via Bristol.
We tried to get two cars going last year from the UK, but a few western wimps talked a lot then faded away ................

........ of course if rufus doesn't commit early this year we may have a spare seat in Midaski's chariot ..........  :engel:

2: Are the dates likely to change?

Probably only due to an Act of God. Once fixed they haven't changed over the last three years.

Wait - what do you mean "IF I GO??!"

Well you get Gneisenau to attend and then we'll see.

Though it might be enough for Marek and White Knight to be there to please us 'collectors' ..... especially if WK comes LWL ..............
