He is perhaps the most interesting Gnu to watch go about his business, rivaled only by Dangerously Mongolean Gnu, but you wouldn't want to share an elevator with him...

The Wetnurse was a one-shot.

Bosses have been a bit easy I'm afraid. Maybe it's just that we're not new to this any more.

That woman in white was definitely Yharnam. And that claim about Viola's body disappearing after you knock off the Wetnurse is rubbish. When I walked back out of the Wetnurse arena, Yharnam bowed to me and faded away.

Doing the Chalices now.

Total War

I know, isn't it glorious? :smile2:

Also, to Philly T, don't you just hate it when the enemy takes the high ground?

Cautiously pleased.

If CA actually manages to make this a good Total War game again I will be very pleased. We will see.

I am excited about Total War but like Aldaris, I been burned too many times!

Got my first invasion yesterday.  Four games and they still haven't fixed their lag issues.

Just got Amygdala.  Six damage on a hit, until I worked out that you need to hit the hands (160ish dmg), but Blades of Mercy seem to be the wrong weapon to bring to this fight - fist slams recovered too quick for me to get in a hit, and when his hands weren't on the ground I couldn't reach them.  Nor could I lock onto them individually - head and chest were the only bits, and shooting either of them didn't seem to do a whole lot.  But got him down on the second try, so I guess I can't complain too much.

Nice. I think I was using the Saw Cleaver with a fire gem for that fight.

I broke down an purchased Attila some weeks back, and for a Warscape game it was pretty good. I'd rate it better than Shogun 2 but I think that was largely based on my setting preference. There are of course still huge problems, withholding the Celtic factions to be a DLC release was most annoying though at least in their faction pack they came with a rather drastic, by CA standards, set of additional abilities, building trees, and other sorts which in previous ones had seen little to none.

As for Warhammer Total War, as I posted in the Elector's Forum, the fact that the CA Rep that issues the announcements over at the TW Center forum stated that modding for W:TW will not be supported deals a massive blow to my confidence. Being that CA currently says they support their current titles but have locked away sound and music files, campaign map tools, and numerous other options to which made the Total War games of old great I can only fear a completely unsupported TW to me is a non-starter.

Dark Souls 2 is great fun.  Graphics look the same as a PS3 game though, so it isn't a remastering, which I find distasteful.

As far as game play, it took a few tries to get out of the Bloodborne play style.  In reality, the ability to straight tank it makes it a much easier game, though I only fought a single boss so far: The Dragonrider I think he is called, and he was dead my third try.

Fun to get to select meaningful armors and weapons though!

It actually looked worse than DS1 on PS3, so if it's on par then they have done something.

You've skipped the first area by the way :P

I'm doing the Ailing Loran chalice. Actually quite challenging. Level 75, and feeling weak.

Did I?  I started in the forest of giants but I'm at the tower and can't get through the two locked doors!

Out of curiosity, what build do you use and what does your character look like? I'm thinking of doing something "special". :icon_wink:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RCj0GtN3ryw if this link works.  Youtube is being a bitch, I've tried re-rendering and uploading four times now and it just gets stuck on "processing."  I have no idea why.

Yep. The forest of giants has two bosses and is an easier area than the Tower of Heide. The first is down an elevator, and the second is past a door that needs a key from the first boss.

I went back after your post and found the most door and am grinding my way through ugh!

As a tank is vitality, endurance, and strength the keys to success?  Oh and the one that lets you carry more.

I killed the two bosses at the Forest area.  Is it worth it to cash in those souls you get from the bosses?

Tanking would definitely be vit and end based. Str or Dex would depend on the weapon you want to use. I've always gone Dex, because I suck too much to use slow-swinging weapons (but I'm thinking of trying to zweihander my way through my current ng+ DS1 playthrough).

That's a shame to hear about the DS2 graphics on PS4 - although I thought I'd heard positive things elsewhere? So maybe it would be better to just buy the Scholar of the First Sin "upgrade" for my existing PC version than shell out for a new copy when I get my Bloodstation 4?

Get Bloodborne!

The reviews say Scholar does have improved graphics but not by much.  Mostly much better frame rates.  But compared to Bloodborne it isn't great.

I'm not sure what weapons are best for straight str or dex any more. I know str is massively better than in DS1 though.
