Pledged for one set of the halflings, not much interest in the others.

Kickstarter suspended that halfling pledge drive.  The figures can still be purchased on pre-order on the company's internet site.  Think I'll wait.

I saw that. He also mentioned that they're at the "early bird" price at the moment if you buy direct

Just thought I would add a few comments to this thread.

I did get some Warlord Games / TTCombat halflings and a box of the Wargames Atlantic ones.

Pretty disappointed with the Warlord ones.

Firstly they are different proportions to Westphalia - they are about the same height, but the heads are much larger. They are more in keeping with the later GW ones - the guy with the sword and chicken drumstick and the large feather in his hat.
Westphalia halflings are generally human proportions just shorter.

They are also chubby and the bows on the archers are just stupid and 'toy' looking.
The resin seems a lot softer, and therefore more bendy and the weapons are flimsy.

And they need a lot of cleaning up - loads of excess resin supporting 'pipework'.

The Wargames Atlantic ones are plastic and are ok - not as detailed as Westphalia, but passable.

40 figures per box.
8 sprues with 5 x One piece body, and overall somewhere in the middle, or even closer to Westphalia proportion wise.

Lots of heads (15) loosely from different time periods if you want to theme your troops.

You cannot make 40 figures of the same weapon type though.

Your 5-man sprue has the following choices of weaponry with hands/arms
2 x Pike
2 x Polearms
2 x Bows
2 x Slings (Unusual)
1 x Short Sword
1 x Musician Horn

so you can multiply that by 8 to see your maximums.
2 Boxes would get you a decent varied small force.

Now I have a pic host I will try to knock up a comparison photo at some stage.

Interesting ... most of them all seem to have the chubbier GW look to them.

I have a bunch of the GW figures, yet prefer the Westfalia look.

Per the pics, Black Tree have two very different ranges of halflings. Ral Partha and Reaper can also vary a lot too.

Thanks for the info on Warlord & Wargames Atlantic, I've been considering both lately.

I'd honestly prefer to get the all of the figures I want from Westfalia (favorite sculpts by a longshot!) but my orders either seem to arrive all messed up or not at all!

I don't think the Black Tree LOTR halfling line is alive. Haven't seen those minis on their website in years.

I think Reaper has two distinct fantasy scales: the 90's 28mm, and the 2000s 30-35mm, which is also the scale for all new bones plastics that are not a remolding of a 90's metal sculpt. The lines are named differently, so it's easy to differentiate them. (ATM can't remember just what the names were...)

If I can draw myself away from various other hobby obsessions, I'll show you comparisons of the halflings I have (for example I have both kinds of Black Tree halflings - very different indeed.)
Photobucket has now re-destroyed my pictures, so the first half of my collected works thread is no longer working again. To see my website version of the campaign thread, with fully functioning pictures, please go to https://bigsmallworlds.com/

Ok - here are some size comparison pics.
I have used one Westphalia figure (WES) -  and one GW figure from early 1990s era.

WG = Warlord Games (TTCombat)
WA  = Wargames Atlantic

GW, WA, WG, WA, WG, WES

GW, WG, WES, WG,  WG,  WA

WES,  5 x Midlam, GW

One or two could have been posed at a better angle, but I think you can see what I meant about the 'proportions' on the Warlord Games/TTCombat ones.
They are probably not as bad as I thought originally now I have cleaned them up, but the soft resin means I have had some broken weapons.
The Wargames Atlantic ones are better in my opinion, and not immune to some criticism: the pike was a devil to line up with the left (handless) arm, and there is a right arm with an arrow, to combine with the bow left arm, and the arrow is incredibly thin. One broke just clipping it off the sprue, and some of the other weapons are a bit flimsy.

While I had the camera set up, I took a few more of other Halflings I have.
Padre mentioned the Harlequin?Black Tree ones of which I have a few.

Again I used a Westphalia and GW Figure to help the size comparison.

Harlequin/ Black Tree - small

Harlequin/ Black Tree - larger

These have 'Mark SIMS' on the tab - he of Crusader Miniatures, but I think these are from a previous 'job' and may have ended up at Black Hat, and again moved on? Simple but a nice size fit for rear ranks.

Old GW - 1980s

More Old GW - 1980s

More Old GW - 1980s

More Old GW - 1980s

More Old GW - 1980s  but with one of the Mark Sims figures at the far right.

Lastly some 'Lord of the Rings' figures and I am not sure of the source though I suspect one is actually the GW game.

They have Merry, Sam, and Frodo on the tabs (in that order L to R ) but nothing else.

Edit - Also now includes 'Bilbo' from the unidentified set below - between the Valkyrie and Ral Partha figures.

These I suspect are from the GW game - they have the films 'look'.

and lastly I cannot identify these either - two of which are beyond tiny  :biggriin:

On the right they are small and skinny.

Somewhere I also have some other manufacturers' halflings.

Copplestone - couple of sets - some old ones, and some more recent.
Arcworlde Halflings of Hobbleshire set

and I have done 4 KS and included sets of Villagers of ...

Midlam Miniatures

and mustn't forget ... ...

White Knight's - loads of  :engel:

Really like those Midlams.
The ‘quaterlings’ seem a bit small.

I think the Mark Sims minis are from the old Shattered Isles range, now being sold by Bridge Miniatures.

Ral Partha. Old. They had some tiny cavalry, too.

Scroll through the Men of Averaign figures for the smaller Black Tree halflings.

https://eoeorbis.com/collections/fantasy/range_men-of-averaign

The larger ones used to be in their own category, but now that seems to display the smaller ones from the range above instead.

I have sort of identified the figure in the middle now (between the Valkyrie one and the Ral Partha.

I think it belongs with the three LotR figures pictured with the names as I think it says Bilbo on the tag.

They were a follow up on White Knights Halfling ranges, which he sold to TAG, so they match the puffy pants and sleeves of the Imperial look, but I must admit for some reason I have never really liked the 'chickens' or roosters as mounts just generally as a concept.

Realistically they would have to be mutant chickens anyway as their relative size to the halflings are silly. Big pigs or even largeish goats are mor realistic by far.

Having said that I have some, and some of the new 'armoured' ones, but I think that says more for the stupid 'collector' in me, than for the aesthetic.
