First pics from my painting desk: Cardinals Fang, Ximinéz and Biggles - aka three warrior priests.

They should be, but were let down by slow painting.

Good start.

Don't know if it's the pics, but they could perhaps use some more shading.

I think it's the pics. They were taken under my (rather strong) daylight lamp. It's something else I can work on ...

10 archers (the glue not quite dry under the static grass).

These are my favourite Citadel Empire minis I've painted so far (though it's pistoliers next and they're rather splendid, too).

Cheers!

This plog has been a bit neglected as I've failed to finish a mini since March (real life, harumph).

Tonight I'll slop some matt varnish on the last of 5 pistoliers, marking 1000 points painted. Then I'll do a team photo to celebrate (and think about learning how to play again - it's been time).

After 2 months of real life doing what it does, a painted unit:

This takes me to 1000 points painted. I'll try to get a team photo (with my real camera) on the weekend.

The Pistoliers marked the completion of the first 1000 point block (there's a bit more than a thousand but a it's a bit character-heavy to fight with). So here's what I have so far ...

Pistoliers

Knights Panther + Grand Master

Fire and Metal* Wizards

Too many generals

3 silly and 1 sensible Warrior Priests

Artillery + Engineer

Team photo

Next up: 20 swordsmen, 10 halberdiers (get the unit up to 50), 3 demigryphs, Light Wizard and surprises for one of youse!

* this is a terrible metal-anorak pun for which I can only apologise.

I'm not sure it's worth the threadomancy but here's some more state troops ...

Nice! Are you going for a particular province of the Empire or just for what looks good?
Now go! Ride towards the sun atop these noble steeds
You're our spandex heroes, now fullfil your destinies
And so we turned and rode beyond the castle walls
with shiny codpiece armour that doth cradle our chivalrous balls

Despite the Sigmarite shields (and planned handgunners  :icon_redface:) they're Middenheim. I'll admit that this choice was based on they're being blue and white, like my football club. A happy coincidence is that I rather like the Middenheim fluff (i.e. what little I remember from the old days, have read in the army book and Hammers of Ulric).

I'll be adding some iconic Middenheim models - priests of Ulric and White Wolves - as time permits.
