Took some photos at Salute last Saturday .... and I saw this and thought of Mathi .........

 













The axes are fairly modest ............




and a bit of ordnance .................





You should have seen the hole in the ceiling when they did the firing demo ................. 

and lastly the wenches ...........

Oh dear, oh dear... I am so...  :Ohmy:

Them axes seem small but fast. Good close quarter chopping stuff if you have a shield in the other hand or for that matter a sword or dagger in the other.

But that light throwing machine is cool. I have used one of those but one of twice the size approximately, when I worked at Eketorp fort in 2007. The swedish term is Dragblida (Drawthrower) You have a synched team pulling the ropes that provide the power instead of a counterweight. Not as mighty as a trebuchet but lighter. I thing a term for these lighter throwers was Mangonel.

And I dig that Kettlehat.
