Woke up this morning with this beautiful old Irish tune in me ‘ead.  I listened to this album in my early years 8-12 till I knew every song and word. It’s funny how the memory never leaves you.
The Clancy Brothers - Jug of Punch

Irish tunes are so good. "Rocky Road to Dublin" and "Cavan Girl" always get me to the right place.

Kind of late to the party but I started listening to Volbeat and Clutch.  Good solid rock.

I haven't kept up with recent releases, but I love Clutch. Somewhere on my blog I posted about the Pure Rock Fury album being my WFB campaign soundtrack...

I've pretty much given up on the radio.  I listen to a local classic rock station when I'm driving around town but that's about it.  I have to dig more now for music.

I haven't listened to broadcast radio for years. Far more options for every type of music via streaming services.

Currently listening to Carbon Based Lifeforms, Stellardrone and Yotto. I call the first two 'Space Ambient'.

Dang Mids, now you got me thinking of 'The Court of the Crimson King’
This is the 3rd song ‘Epitaph’ that I connected with at a very early age and I would say it becomes more relevant every year. The line - confusion will be my epitaph - made total sense to me always. For years I thought that would actually be what would be carved in my stone but that fell away to wanting nothing and no marker that I was ever here. That’s what I would like now and no, I’m not depressed of crazy (in my world) but just how I look at things now.

Epitaph

The wall on which the prophets wrote
Is cracking at the seams.
Upon the instruments of death
The sunlight brightly gleams.
When every man is torn apart
With nightmares and with dreams,
Will no one lay the laurel wreath
When silence drowns the screams.

Confusion will be my epitaph.
As I crawl a cracked and broken path
If we make it we can all sit back and laugh.
But I fear tomorrow I'll be crying,
Yes I fear tomorrow I'll be crying.

Yes I fear tomorrow I'll be crying

Between the iron gates of fate
The seeds of time were sown
And watered by the deeds of those
Who know and who are known.
Knowledge is a deadly friend
If no one sets the rules.

The fate of all mankind I see
Is in the hands of fools.

The wall on which the prophets wrote
Is cracking at the seams.
Upon the instruments of death
The sunlight brightly gleams.
When every man is torn apart

With nightmares and with dreams,
Will no one lay the laurel wreath
When silence drowns the screams.

Confusion will be my epitaph.
As I crawl a cracked and broken path
If we make it we can all sit back and laugh.
But I fear tomorrow I'll be crying,
Yes I fear tomorrow I'll be crying.
Yes I fear tomorrow I'll be crying

I had to make a list of Uplifting music to combat my depression. I have it on Youtube and for some reason the music from Firefly and fan music inspired by Firefly features heavily.

Then Kenny Rogers went belly up and I remembered The Gambler. And it sort of fit perfectly in the list along with Ballad of Serenity and Hero of Canton.

Going to give this a listen. Always liked tangerine dream. Only ever had Stratusfear as an album and completely loved it. Spotify has it all and am downloading now.

Lots of tango music from the Argentine composers.  I'm actually learning them faster, their music, their styles, etc.  Oh I must practice my dance, and looking forward to returning at some point.
