AoS Catching on Somewhere?

The article, which includes the rules packet that the club uses, says that when they switched to a more narrative style competition, the group took off. Interesting read.

Good for them, I guess. Funny that a new product must be "saved" in such a manner, and is unable to work by itself. Back here almost no one I know plays or collects AoS. Even Warsaw's GW store is largely free of that game. My local FLGS, which is two streets from my home, has almost zero minis on sale, same with the other two stores that I visit from time to time.

Then again, I did consider playing two games of AoS with my Empire minis to see if maybe the game isn't a complete dung. Are there any cool scenarios for a 3-player battles, fast ones? I was thinking about playing 3 quick games with my mates in one afternoon, since lately we've been sticking to the Kill-Team game format.

Makes sense; the game carves out it's own niche this way.  Really the only issue with this is that it requires a core group of pretty committed players to keep the monthly league going.  I am still completely flabergasted that GW still has not released free scenario packets and organized play stuff themselves - instead spreading it all over the place in expensive books and online DLC.  Oh well, more power to the groups that do figure it out.

GW Warsaw is planning to run an AoS campaign I think - I've seen a comp pack they've made posted on their FB page, points and all. I agree that the fact an official store needs to make up points to make the game work is pretty silly.
cheers,

Seems that all GW stores are going solo mostly on that as well, I think mostly interpreting their customer base what would work best with them.. My GW store just uses wounds.

Good to know! I'll check it out, altough the official GW store in Warsaw has some... obnoxious clientele for my tastes. Thanks for the tip anyways. ;)

I read the article, but there didn't seem to be much meat to it.  As an example, they mention the word "narrative" yet no description as to what is going on with that.
