Wait I get it !

In a video they have mentionned plastic sister of battle, and many are thinking that it was just a big troll and not a true information.

Big troll + Made to order = They're brigging back the Troll King model at 50€ in glorious FineCast(tm)  :D

Looks like the first wave of orders was leaked, imperial guard.  :-)

Pardon?

available for 48h?

unbelievable... What is that? a kind of threat? Come on..!!! Really? You never can do things on the right way?? Always pressing, always searching the minimum slit to take even the last pence to the gamers...  :icon_mad: I was thinking on buying some Valhalla troops but I need more than 48 to think about it. I don't like pressure

I can understand why they would do it that way; they need to start fulfilling orders quickly so they can be delivered. But if there is a long period of ordering, it might be hard to know how many of each to make.

Agreed.

They also said that the more that is ordered the longer they'll keep the orders available.

If it's only for 48 hours to pre-order, does that imply there will be another set of stuff next week?

I imagine " the first wave" implies that as well.  :smile2:

Not sure the next orders will come up so quick as next week, though.

Maybe not an ideal way to do it, but generally speaking, it seems like everyone wins (except maybe recasters and people listing insane prices on eBay.) Customers looking for oop figures get a second chance, and GW gets to make a profit on otherwise "dead" products. I doubt it's feasible for them to keep their entire back catalog as always available, do this seems like a "safe" way for them to make old minis available.

Feels like falsifying demand with a manufactured timeframe to boost sales. Their bits store online used to be one of their best features.

Sure, but the logistics & labor are probably a liability that a public corp. doesn't care about sustaining. This seems like a compromise.

Besides, there will be plenty of speculators "investing" in these figures and pumping them into the secondary market well after the initial sale.

I hope that the second wave will be much more interesting. Most of these figurines are available in Poland for a very low price and in great numbers. Nothing cool for me here.

The positives: Metal miniatures (!) and rather moderate prices for GW standards.
The negatives: Only 40.000 miniatures so far and a very short time frame to order - this reminds me of tele-shopping: "LIMITED OFFER ... CALL NOW BEFORE IT'S ALL GONE!! THE CLOCK IS TICKING!!" Except you don't get anything "FOR FREE!!" from GW if you "ORDER NOW!!".

I hope they will offer Empire/Bretonnian/DoW/Mordheim models at some point.

It's finally up and available in my area, and I have to say, I'm not horrified by the prices. I was expecting far higher. 10 metal Kasrins for $50? I thought it would end up being closer to 100.

Wait, they really are metal and not finecast or something similar ?

I remember that GW was supposed to have sold all their metal casting stuff after swtiching to finecast, so if this is true, then it means that they eitheir changed opinion and are again able to produce metal models, or they use a subcontractor

Latest WikiLeak : Xathrodox86 has three souls.

Everything I have seen suggests the models are metal - including the webpages wherein they are ordered, which states metal (at least for the models I checked). I suspect this is because it is pretty easy to spin the molds (pun intended) back up.

That 48 hours thing. Meh, turns me off even trying to buy.

What will happen is that I'll save my money for an old OOP model that I hope they post up. But then they end up never posting it or I happen to be busy those 2 days miss the window.

Such a bad marketing scheme.  They seriously can't leave it up for a week?

And you know what. If I miss the 2 day window I can just check ebay and chances are there is a model for sale at 2/3rd GW's listed price because the seller panicked and listed it cheap because it was no longer an OOP model. lol.

I can't wait for Teutogen Guard to go up for sale on GW website. ....watch the ebay prices plunge!!! lol.
For Wissenland and the Countess!!!
