I recieved a mystery package today. Two awesome minis shipped from Stonehaven a tengu mage and a jackalope!  :-D I don't suppose this is related to the Pleasant Surprises?

Hey ! Happy pleasant surprise! To the man who has everything. I had looked at your collection of giants and had found that one was missing. The only giant that I had in fact. My first purchase and lucky giant (if anything related to rollng dice can be lucky in relation to me 😸) I had him packaged and ready to go when who should appear  on your blog but this dude
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a195/ZeroTwentythree/0multiplog/lcg01-ba17a_zpswvg4zoja.jpg
All was lost until you let slip that Stonehaven had miniatures that you liked and although not halflings, when I saw the Mage, I thought, this is 023 and the Jakalope is some Canadian lore and maybe a good minion 😺
Your painting will do these guys the justice they diserve as opposed to mine, so have fun! They couldn't be on better hands.

Haha! I've actually had that giant lurking in my collection for a couple years now, but just got around to painting him. Sorry (but only a little) to have spoiled your initial plan.

I do love the mage, and I think it will fit perfectly with my re-imagined idea of goblins as being a mixed collection of various small creatures along the lines of Froud, Bauer. Labyrinth, Legend, etc.

I am familiar with the Jackalope, and have a bit of a fondness for rabbit lore in general. I believe I've mentioned/linked once or twice before to some of my art & designer toy stuff, but I use the brand/name Infinite Rabbits in that aspect of my life. When my wife and I were married, our wedding cake-topper & invidations, etc. featured a rabbit and a butterfly to represent us, rather than the usual bride & groom.

So you really nailed it 2 for 2! :-D Thank you very much. I'll be putting these right into the painting queue (as much as it seems in flux lately...)

 :::cheers:::

Of course the rabbits! What a stroke of luck! I look forward to what the finished result is. As if you didn't have enough to do. Anyways i'm glad no end that you like them 😸 It was a fun experience.

I did receive your suprise indeed Kirgan but the address I gave is my parent's and this week I hadn't got a chance to go visit them until today that is  and there was the surprise waiting for me.  Great job on this swordsman........it puts all my painting to shame  :-P  Also thanks a lot for the overly generous surprise with also a kislev boyar put in for good measure.... :::cheers:::  Great work and great stalking too as you spotted the gap in my collection, mainly being a lack of kislevites....though I do have horse archers and wigned lancers but nearly nothing with regards to kislev infantry   I have plans to include them both as adventurers in the dungeons I am building

For everyone else here are the pics of the surprise I received from Kirgan.  Enjoy

As a side note, my pleasant surprise is nearly ready too so hopefully I will finish it off and post it to my recipient soon too.

I must admit, i have only ever seen the lord character on the dragon. Should be fun to have a dragon mage!

I'm a little behind with this project due to some personal issues.
I hope to work on it a little more this weekend.

I have done nothing with my project for the past three months except cut off its head and tail, strip them, and paint them with gesso.

I have now glued the head and tail back on. And it is sitting on my painting desk.

I've been using the fact that the due date is the end of July to force myself to finish about 12 other hobby projects first, including the 50 zombie cultists I'm working on right now. A kind of uber-deadline.

Am I making a mistake? A certain nervousness courses through me when I think about it!
Photobucket has now re-destroyed my pictures, so the first half of my collected works thread is no longer working again. To see my website version of the campaign thread, with fully functioning pictures, please go to https://bigsmallworlds.com/
