Finished the April Fool. But me and my paint brush have had a big falling out last week, like I could not face painting, so Zealots not finished.

"So go on make me laugh." Could not find grumpy dwarf as I wanted. So this is Aikman from 1980's Dogs of War range.

Wow, looks awesome Shadespyre! Honestly I think it looks better as a VC dragon than Empire. And with all of your own added details, it really fits seamlessly with your army.

I had my own theme for April (which I think is officially an annual thing now) but maybe I will jump on the May(fly) theme. I'm usually so fixated on rank & file, I forget about the flying critters I've got. I think I've got a few things to work on...

It's the Carmine Dragon from Forgeworld - they do it with or without rider - their Warhammer models can be quite expensive, but this one is really nice and suggests that some of the others would be worth forking out for. As 023 noted, I've made a few modifications to the base to make it fit my army, but otherwise it's "off the shelf".

And yes, I am quite pleased with how it came out, very glad people like it

OK, quickly dug through my bins and came up with a few flyers...

I've got a couple of larger dragons, the big Reaper jabberwock, more DoW Birdmen, and some other stuff that I'm not up for working on yet. But maybe a few of the figures above. I had been looking for the owl recently -- glad I found it! I plan on converting the tiny dwarf rider to a halfing.

Now the difficult part is to make up my mind on which figure(s) to work on...

Ok, I'm jumping the gun, but most if the way through converting the Reaper owl-gryph rider with the top half of a Westfalia halfman (which, I suppose, would rightly be called a quarterman at that point? Hmm... perhaps a name for him.... something-or-other Quartermain

It wouldn't fit my theme, so I won't be going it -- but painting the owl-gryphon like a snow-owl + lynx seems like a natural fit for the model... and Frostgrave!

Thanks! I spent a lot of time on the eyes, glad it seems to have paid off!

Halfling owlgryph! It's a metal Reaper figure, with the top half of the (tiny) dwarf rider swapped out for the top half of a Westphalia halfman. I swapped the halfling's sword for the dwarf's spear/lance, though, as I thought it was a more appropriate weapon.

No flying thing from me this month, but I've put some of my already painted flying thing on the Disbandment of Altdorf thread.

Although nothing in my fantasy army fits with Dune, I did see an Arab Dogs of War figure last week. Now can I find the box again. I'm actually painting a squad of 20mm WW2 Italians at the moment, so will show those on Non Empire thread.
