Having had a skim through the rules it seems quite interesting.

However I am appalled at the quality of the proof reading - On the IG page there is:

Astra Militarum veteran are hardy and skilful warriors. such soldiers .........

Kill Teal
The fllowing special rules ......... to all of the member of their ...........

Astra Militarul Veteran Kill Team

....... an astra Militarum Leader can choose ...............

... of their Kill team rather .............
.......... shooting at the ennemy themselves.

The Leader cannot shot in the shooting phase .........

..... all other members of the kill team ............

I am up to 24 mistakes on the one page - unbelievable

Actually I have just looked at another 'pirate copy' and this has been corrected - looks like I got an early version as well.  :engel:

There are 40 different shades of black, so many fortresses and ways to attack.

So why you complaining!

yeh.
for me they're £80 including 2 other bits plus dice, tokens, and the rulebook nice, but not £40 on their own nice.

That's okay.

Roster sheet for us

Took the image tags off - the link works fine.

That was the one thing I couldn't find, but why is there a second blank page?

so do I bring imperial guard, skitarii, or dark eldar?

is it recommended to take the maximum number of bodies possible?

and how do the Spec Operatives work?

I guess some of the Mordheim principles apply but skimming the rules there are some interesting bits - dodgy weapons can blow up on you - 2D6 roll against an 'ammo' save

Special Ops - I think you can hire for a single game at a time, and they cost you - Prometheus cache - and so you won't have any first game to hire them anyway.
Campaigns seem to run on first team to hit and hold number of P caches - 15 recommended, and so you would not be able to have a Spec Op guy for the last game - your 15 total would drop to buy one.

Novogrod has Valhallans, which was one of my options as I actually have some painted  :engel: but I will probably go with Catachans for variety.

Not sure if Matt is going to try it either - he has Chaos SM figures.

I assumed Fr1day might bring Scouts as he could have the SM models.

You can get some sneaky practice in with him this weekend though ...............................  :closed-eyes:

The big problem is that GW did not release a separate rulebook to begin with. I want it NOW! Not at some distant point in the future. I want the rules, dammit! I want to read them now!

I can bring either my SM scouts or IG Kasrkin.

What are Scions  ( as they are an IG Special Operative option ) - I rather assumed they were the new name for Stormtroopers or Kasrkin, as they are described as having 'hotshot' Lasguns and carapace armour.

I have read that the 'new' rules are very similar to the old ones - has anyone checked that?

I'm going to bring orks as you guys are all going imperial. Not sure they'll all get painted though
There are 40 different shades of black, so many fortresses and ways to attack.

So why you complaining!

Yeah, Scions are basically Stormies. In that case I'll bring a squad of Cadians, a single Kasrkin for Spec Ops.
