My son got Guess Who for Christmas. We cracked it open yesterday and played a few rounds. He also got a super mario themed Uno deck of cards which we have also played.

We got a game called Tsuro for our cousins and its really fun. Fully recommend.

We also got Ticket To Ride: North America for our on collection and Jenga! Jenga is awesome, and the entire clan has been getting really into it.

Tsuro is so awesome and simple. Love it!

We also played Lords of Waterdeep yesterday.

And I and my youngest had a bout in Wings of War.
Oh, and remember GW made it personal, not you!

Got in 3 more games of Sea Kings yesterday.  This time each game had 5 or 6 players, and this made for a game that seems to require a bit more focus on what strategy a player is going to take.

This game can be played with out the optional rules, but the optional rules have a good number of items that help increase the ability to lessen the luck sometimes involved with the cards one gets in their hands and the roll of the dice.

My wife has the goal to play all of our games this year.  So far we've played 10 of 131.

The highlight so far is I've introduced chess to my oldest.
Me and Wissenlander had babies!

not together.

finding photographic evidense that Wiss smiles is going to be hard...

Anyone played "Terraforming Mars" by chance? The concept is intriguing and the board set up looks a bit like settlers of catan.

I haven't, but it looks like something I might enjoy.  Have you played it?

No, but I have heard of it I want to say 2 or 3 years ago, and was reminded of it when I saw this 25sec short by ProZD
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_LhxG51dFew

I like the idea of it and it sounds interesting. At a glance it looks like its been getting 4/5 stars. Wasn't sure if anyone here has played it and had any input.

Quote
In the 2400s, mankind begins to terraform the planet Mars. Giant corporations, sponsored by the World Government on Earth, initiate huge projects to raise the temperature, the oxygen level, and the ocean coverage until the environment is habitable. In Terraforming Mars, you play one of those corporations and work together in the terraforming process, but compete for getting victory points that are awarded not only for your contribution to the terraforming, but also for advancing human infrastructure throughout the solar system, and doing other commendable things.

Terraforming Mars was the game we played the most in 2019.  Absolutely love it.  It's probably currently in my top 5 favorite games.  We've got all of the expansions except for Venus Next.  I would highly recommend.

Uh oh, with that kind of review from Wiss, going to need to get it.

And maybe when Feanor moves into the area, we can play it :icon_exclaim:

We played our second game of "Villainous" today. Last weekend was the first. Each player is a Disney villain trying to achieve a specific goal while preventing the other players from achieving theirs first. Ages 10+, but my 8 year old daughter is handling it well. She won the first game and almost won today's as well if I hadn't made a lucky card draw to slow her down for a round or two.

2020 totals:

Dungeon! - 1
Villainous - 2

For the first time in long, I have played Risk. It must have been 15 years since I played the game.
This time with my wife, since we have to stay home :-)

2020 totals:

Dungeon! - 3
Villainous - 2

We played another game of Dungeon! My daughter not only won, but gloated by giving my wife a "sympathy gift" of treasure, and stopped to battle some monsters on the way to the exit because she knew she was so far ahead of us.

I admire her style.  :-D

New edit 03/30/20, played Dungeon again over the weekend.

Been playing a lot of board games at home as we are all sent home from our offices/schools.

Terraforming Mars is amazing BTW, especially if you are the sort to start printing out 3D tile pieces

Played
Talisman
Clash of Cultures,
Dice City
Last Night on Earth
Carcassonne
Alhambra (with Grenada)
Clank
Among the Stars
Castles of Burgundy
Robo Rally

Recommend all these games, lots of fun.

So far only 4 games of Sea Kings back in January.  Now I can only play solitaire.  Unless I get set up with Zoom, then maybe that could work.

My fiance and I played a round of Arkham Horror with her dad and brother.  Risked $4000 in fines since they live 2 minutes down the road (how I love Michigan's governor).   :icon_rolleyes:  Still a fun game, despite how often we lose at it...and yes, we lost, in about 2.5 hours.  Her dad had never played before but he had a good time (and brought good wine!).

I've only been able to play two games of Arkham Horror, and didn't finish either of them. Would love to give it another shot.

I usually have to clear an entire evening for a game (about five hours, from setup to calling it a night...teardown happens the next morning).  That said, I've also played a couple of games for six hours to a status of "well, we're not losing...but this could go on for another six hours."  The game is incredibly unpredictable in length.  Fortunately, I have some friends who enjoy it, and the cooperative nature of it means that my fiance is onboard with it as well, which is a lot of fun.

I picked up the Dunwich Horror expansion and like a lot of things that it adds.  I've read that I should add the King in Yellow as well...maybe once my local game store opens back up.

...If it opens back up.    :icon_confused:

played Machiavelli, Pandemic (seemed appropriate..), Catan and Bang!

Got some new games in the house (as we are spending more time in anyway, I thought it was a good idea to use some of my bday money on board games)

So played:
Ticket to Ride Europe
Carcassone
Legends of Andor
Memoir '44

and an oldie I found on top of a closet where we have some older and incomplete games next to a stack of puzzles:
Dungeons and Dragons the boardgame
