So I finally started Somerset's billmen, constructed 3.  Also painted bolt gun on the armor one of the horses for my Knights of the Aver River (3 down, 3 to go).

Friday ... Day 65
Watching a 9th edition battle video report while pretending to paint.

Saturday ... Day 66
Reading some of the new 9th edition rules. I really hope to play more + some of padre star wars fluff.

Sunday ... Day 67
Sat with the wife to transferring more paints into dropper bottles. She enjoy that and we get to work together.

Monday ... Day 68
I will probably try hunt and organize unfinished models that I have around the house + attic + cellar. I just hope I have not lost any. If I am lucky, maybe a little bit of painting in discord?

This is mostly my wife's hobby but I have started to like it. In case you interested here are links to the pictures...no preview to make suspense.

Friday, Day 65. Many of the models have begun to blend together and speak to me. They whisper "paint faster"...

Alas, they are ignored. My dad is on a streak reorganizing the storage shed. So it falls to me to repack the warhammer. I spent all weekend unpacking, fixing, repacking and restoring some bins. It was a ton of work, and I'm counting it as hobby time because I was up to my elbows in models all day.

So that's Friday to Monday for me, (Because I type this during my break from the next box!)

Am hard at work on the two I.C's
Did some more minor work on a couple of Howling griffons
AND I tried to see if I could build an interior for an old Tamyia panzer II

Nice going all of you!

Week 9
June 26th:
-Finished the Coldstar Commander (battleready)
-now starting up on taking the pictures of this past month
June 28th:
-Build the Primaris Librarian with Benthe
-Build the Foetid Bloat Drone and magnetised the weapon options also, just not to happy about the outlining of one of the plaguespitters so worked in a bit of Green Stuff to see how that will look
-Put some paint on the Primaris Intercessors
June 29th:
-More Paint on the Intercessors! Metalics and first model got some lighter green first layer done
-Primed the Librarian and the Foetid Bloat Drone
June 30th:
-Put some paint on the base and 4 colors on the foetid Bloat Drone whilst talking to RealJuan and Padre on discord

Week 10
July 3rd:
-Put some more paint on the Foetid Bloat Drone
-Added a few washes to the 10 man Fire Warriors
July 5th:
-Build a Wizard and his Apprentice for Frostgrave
-Build 2 Men at Arms and 2 Crossbowmen/Marksmen for Frostgrave
July 6th:
-Just a little bit of painting done on the Foetid Bloat Drone, like some of you had some mushed brains I also had that a little and due to some heavy lifting also som eshaky hands that didn't help

I finished building the interior for the Panzer. I'm tempted to add an engine block and make the whole thing disassemable [is that even a word?] so that the inner workings can be seen

I also finished a Howling Griffon and did some more work on the two Imperial guard officers [which are made from the new commissar kit]
And can I just say as a long time Imperial guard fan I HATE the new commissar model

Today, Tuesday, painted more on my halfling pike.

Finding problems with my use of acrylics. Gonna have to change technique again. I did the skin areas as a white undercoat and washed flesh on. Then I black enamel undercoated elsewhere and painted the clothes etc in acrylic over. Now, as I come to the point when I can highlight the flesh, loads of it has already worn off down to grey plastic! Aaargh. Maybe I should have primed grey first, then white, then a wash?

I hate, after 35+ years of painting, being an amateur again!

But I can't go back to breathing white spirits all the time!

I shall just have to keep trying until I find a new successful technique!

Not sure I am following this, although when I am using acrylics, I always use a primer first on the minis, usually a spray primer.

Never had to prime in enamels. Just black undercoat, then off I went.

Now I am sticking to a black undercoat for all non flesh areas, enamel. Then painting with acrylics over so I don't breath too many white spirit fumes whilst constantly cleaning brushes.

The flesh, though, I undercoated in white acrylic (no primer) then washed flesh (watered down) on, intending later to highlight. But whilst I have handled the figure to paint clothes and armour and weapons etc, I have rubbed the flesh wash and white undercoat off down to the plastic.

I now know why acrylic painters prime figures first.

Like I said, thousands of enamel painted figures, and I do mean thousands, and yet I am now an amateur again.
