that's a great idea
Why don't you knock it off with those negative waves? Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here? Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change ….

So OldMarines (along with Chaos Marines) are supposed to get 2 wounds in the updated codex. They'll be re-working weapon profiles (adding St and AP to existing weapons) which may affect other factions as well.

I guess GW isn't trying to toss them out the airlock...yet.

Interesting.  Seems more damage, range, etc ... more wounds to take off a model.

good thing similair weapons in other factions will get thos buffs also.. otherwise those marines that were already hard to beat will only get harder to beat..

But I still suspect that with the next codex Space Marines (not the one coming in October but the one after that) may that be still n 9th or already 10th ed, that the lore will progress it so that all classic Marines will have walked the rubricon to become Primaris

Jokes aside, there's been some misinformation flying around the rumor mill because of "leaked" stat-sheets like the one above. Be careful when coming across stat-sheets for armies that do not have a slated codex release yet.

With the note that the following codex (supplements) are also coming in 2020: Blood Angels, Space Wolves, Deathwatch and Death Guard. With early 2021 Dark Angels and the first Xenos codex.

And besides that new terminator model with a dual Plaguespitter and power fist model I also saw some kind of furnace in that video clip.. I wonder what that is.

I know Forgeworld sells them, and they also typically sell all the Imperial Armor stuff anyways. They may be releasing newer ones or different bundles.

I don't know if new Krieg models are coming. I know they said they were making new books/rules for all the exisiting models. Might just be that.

Weapon profile updates inbound:
https://www.warhammer-community.com/2020/09/14/codex-space-marines-weapons-and-wargear-updates/

Quote
However, it’s not just the Adeptus Astartes who will benefit from all of the shiny new rules found within the next codex. These changes will also be rolled out to all other factions that utilise the same wargear* – even xenos races such as the T’au Empire and Aeldari – at the same time the codex is launched!

* With updates to many more weapons due alongside future codexes for more exotic, army-specific wargear.

also to combi-flamers, handflamers and heavy flamers

Multi melta to 2 shots and extra damage output

Again same for the combi-melta, melta guns and inferno pistols (for the extra damage)

upgrade in S

Better AP

upgrade in S

adjusted (worse invuln, adding 1 to saving throws)

bye bye obnoxious re-rolling shenanigangs!
https://www.warhammer-community.com/2020/09/16/core-units-and-characters/

new CORE keyword for standard units (can be troops but also elite or fast)
and certain Aura abilities will only affect CORE keyworded units..
No more repulser tanks reroll everything, nor the Captain himself

Interesting.  Wondering if the core rule book covers any of this.

It doesn't, or at least my copy doesn't. These all look like things they're keeping to the army book.

Although honestly the Keyword system is already set up in the core book, so all they're doing is changing keywords and not actual rules. The reroll aura for example. It use to affect [faction], now it just affects [faction][core]. So using 2 keywords instead of 1. Its a fairly nice, simple fix to some of the issues.

Whoa! It's been well over two years since I last visited this site. It's good to be back!

From what I know, the Psychic Awakening books are still good for 9th (as is Vigilus, as long as your not doing the tournament thing), and I also understand there is one more book coming out. Here is what we have so far:

I – Psychic Awakening: Phoenix Rising (Craftworlds, Drukhari, Ynnari)

II – Psychic Awakening: Faith & Fury (Black Templars, Adeptus Astartes generic characters, Heretic Astartes)

III – Psychic Awakening: Blood of Baal (Blood Angels, Tyranids)

IV – Psychic Awakening: Ritual of the Damned (Thousand Sons, Dark Angels, Grey Knights)

V – Psychic Awakening: The Greater Good (T’au, Astra Militarum, Genestealer Cults)

VI – Psychic Awakening: Saga of the Beast (Space Wolves, Orks)

VII – Psychic Awakening: Engine War (Adeptus Mechanicus, Imperial Knights, Chaos Knights, Chaos Daemons)

VIII – Psychic Awakening: War of the Spider (Death Guard, Talons of the Emperor, Officio Assassinorum)

IX - Psychic Awakening: Pariah (Necrons, Inquisition)

Checking the above, did they get everybody except the Sisters of Battle? What else did I miss? Harlequins? I only own about 1/2 of these books, could have missed something . . .
So, what would you guys do if some dude came at you with a belt that way?
Make sure I've got the safeword memorised.

Welcome back TexasYankee!

Sisters got their own codex in januari / februari
Harlequins got an update in WD
Necrons got about nothing in Pariah, but new codex coming in October as for Space Marines

Not sure what you mean by one more book coming.. not for Psychic Awakening series at least.. 9 is the magic number going with that in to 9th edition

Welcome back TexasYankee!

Thank you, sir!

Sisters got their own codex in januari / februari
Harlequins got an update in WD
Necrons got about nothing in Pariah, but new codex coming in October as for Space Marines

For sisters, a lot of folks have codex's, I thought they'd get something a little extra like everyone else. :) Didn't know about the clown update in WD, thank you. Necrons got nothing in Pariah? Well, I hope their 'dex gives them a little more love.

As for all the new rules in 9th, I like most of them, but the BLAST rule seems a bit much. Imagine having 11 Orks and then being shot 24 times by a Wyvern . . . I think a more balanced approach would be a minimum # of shots PER DAMAGE DIE, say two if shooting a squad of 6 - 10, and then three if shooting 11 or more. That way a Wyvern would be guaranteed a minimum of eight shots, or 12 against aformentioned Orks.

Not sure what you mean by one more book coming.. not for Psychic Awakening series at least.. 9 is the magic number going with that in to 9th edition

Nine is the magic number . . . you think I would know that, since I play Thousand Sons . . . but damn if I didn't read somewhere there was going to be ten books . . .

Damn . . . it's good to be back!

Deathwatch also got a PA update in a codex, and it was a fairly lame copy paste job. The Sisters are kinda in the last one (Pariah) but because they just got a new book all they really got as an upgrade is a new special character.

Welcome back!

book 10 is in fact just the new 9th edition core book to be honest, grabbing bits from all PA books, as they seem to happen around the same time frame and then progressing the time line somewhat again
