Title: Tribun's new Empire - Blue steel and dirty cloths!

Hauptmann Kurt Betz, Schwertmeister

http://www.coolminiornot.com/302837 (http://www.coolminiornot.com/302837)

Well, well, here's a thing. A fellow stealer of ashtrays on this forum!

I've always wanted to try the "use washes only" technique. You have convinced me that it can work. :-)

Actually I'm not using washes only, but do also some highlighting, when needed. It's my own style, made by try-and-error over years.

Now I wanna show you some dwarfs...yes dwarfs, I know they are actually no empire soldiers anymore...but there have been times, when dwarfs where a fix part of the empire regiments...long, long ago.

Plus: Those minis are my most favourite sculpts in the whole range.

So I'm going on using the dwarfs as swordmen-regiment.  :smile2:

Enjoy:

Hello , your work is really eye catching, a unique technique , bright, the dwarves look very very good.

Just wondered - do you use dry brushing frequently?

Thank you very much for this, I'm really a big fan of your work and it's great to hear you also like my work!

Yes, one of my basic techniques is drybrushing and the creative use of washes/ shades.

The boar rider is a old knight from the box-set of the game: claymore saga (that's was the name on the german market), also made by citadel.

My friend, the collecting a nd painting bug has gripped me worse than you.

I am currently collecting these

http://www.solegends.com/citcat88/0106fighters.htm

They were arguably the original inspiration for the Reiksguard Knights on Foot.

A pre - curser , modelled by Jes Goodwin, in 1988

Some of them are very rare

I ahve never seen any1 displaying all of them painted in a unit

Hmm, those don't look very attractive to me, but it's probably a matter of taste.

I wish you good luck to get all of them!

What I used for Valten'sd legs? Valten's legs!

It is an "on foot"-model. No conversion made.

Cool, I had only ever seen him mounted, the only foot model of Valten I had ever seen myself was the Chosen miniature. I didn't even realize they had made any of the others on foot.

It's a rare Games Day only miniature, which is why there's not much chance of seeing him very often.  As a mini though it's not really suited for a 20x20mm base

It is not a common figure true, but I simply bought it in the store with the mounted model.  That's the way they were released during the storm of chaos.   At least as far as I can remember.

I bought it also with an Archaon on foot model... I still have to place them on a scenic little base together... someday  :engel:
