Scrambled eggs!

I treated myself this morning, normally I have cereal, toast, or porridge.

That looks delicious. We have identical preferences in egg/bacon preparation. Beans would complement that though.

I eat the same breakfast every single day. Raw oats with milk, english muffin (well this varies, sometimes toast) and a cup of tea.

Good stuff.

My egg preference is probably fried. I'd never made scrambled eggs until two days ago, when I made some for ted!

I like poached, but it can go wrong.

Your scrambled eggs don't look like what I'm familiar with over here.  Our's tend to be scrambled before they are put in the fry pan, which means the white and yolk is mixed, giving the scrambled eggs a yellow color.

What's with British people and putting everything on toast?  I have a Gordon Ramsay cookbook, and there's a whole chapter entitled "things on toast."   :?

Agreed, but in the US, you'd almost never see the eggs nor the bacon on top of the toast - they'd all be eaten separately.

Bacon and eggs go on bagels, bisuits, and english muffins in the States, and sometimes even toast, so why not in England, too?

Some folks are miss-informed.  Folks in the States put stuff on toast.  Where's the idea that they don't?

My brother had biscuits and gravy for breakfast in america.

translation: scones with white sauce, with lumps of sausages floating around.

I've never seen anyone put scrambled eggs or bacon on toast in the way Finlay did, was just curious is all.  What IS common in the US in breakfast sandwiches, which almost always include omelet or fried egg and often bacon.  Also, buscuits and gravy rocks, probably my favorite breakfast food.

Toast is magic.

Always toast two slices at a time:

The first still hot straight from the grill or toaster is covered in proper butter, and there's that lovely hot/warm texture of the melted butter making the toast soft ........

and the second slice, (or 4th , or 6th  :engel: ) is allowed to go cold and crisp, before again you cover it thick with butter which doesn't melt this time, and you can add orange, or lemon marmalade for a whole alternative experience.

Then of course eggs, sausages, beans, bacon and other sundry fried breakfast foods are nothing without accompanying toast - it is again a texture thing:
you have the generally soft texture of eggs, beans tomatoes, and maybe the sausages, against the crispness of the toasted bread.

Oh and why has no-one mentioned the other toastastic delight  - cheese on toast, or tomatoes and cheese on toast, or ham and cheese on toast, ...........  :engel:

Eggs over easy. Dip toast (sourdough is best) into yolk. Mmmm...

Old school. 'Bout makes my wife hurl whenever she sees me do it hehe..

How is that a problem?  It makes the toast delicious and the yolk edible.

As an American, I agree that toast generally does not have things on it, unless in sandwich form.
