Ah you Americans had to have those silly cowboy hats.

Of course when you're running around in the Wild West you need something to keep the sun out of your eyes so you can blast the bad guy...  :engel:

Once the US entered the war, they started using the same tin pan style helmet used by the English.  The US gave up the "cowboy hats" after chasing Pancho Villa around.

Picklehaube might look good on parade but the spikes are too visable even when covered and the leather does absolutely nothing for protection.  The Stahlhelm is so cool that Darth Vader had to get a modified one.

The Germans do have the best firearms of the war.  The soldier in the center of the group of three has an MP18 slung over his shoulder.  It definately trumps all other guns in a trench fight.  He also has a couple of MG08s that are an awesome sight to see in action.

Doesn't stop you being a Fop.

Khunag, why are you wearing a pair of boxers on your face?

Were you getting dressed and just.. missed?

Nah, that's actually... hmm... I don't remember the english name, a kind of military scarf that looks like a sleeve. Very useful that, can be worn like a scarf or a hood, hat, and whatever ;)

And I'm wearing it because the pic was made for a rather public place on the net, where I don't necessarily want or need random people to see my face.

Nice goggles though.

Thanks I've made quite a few:

We call it a gator, or neck gator, in the Army.

Though of course you did come late *cough*

Twice *cough*

Too late for what? In WWI we made it just in time for the End-Zone celebration, arguably the best part. In WWII, well, we all know how that turned out, don't we?

The Germans had the best helmets in both wars, by the way, and our first kevlar helmets in the U.S. looked not unlike the German helmets from WWII. Our current kevlars look almost like the Falschirmjaeger helmets, though...
