I hate the blame and claim culture we have here.
A month ago I dislocated my shoulder at work because I was being an idiot (like most injuries in work, everywhere). So, weeks in a sling, constant pain etc. The normal. Luckily it's not my left arm because I actually need that one (cane, typing, writing, one handed eating).
I get stopped by vultures asking me "You alright son?" with their "No wins no fee" leaflets, and it's annoying as hell just -how many- of them there are! I never noticed until I wore the sling and every 5 minutes in town I'd hear it "Excuse me sir/son, you alright?". Always "you alright?". No I bloody am not and your existence infringing on my own has not made it any more bloody pleasant to bear you little snotrag. Get a real job instead of heckling bloody invalids who'd rather not have false sympathy and just be left alone.
Now I didn't really know anything about dislocated shoulders, nor did I much care. All it was was pain and an excuse to be really angry at everyone without retaliation (heaven knows I love that one). The sling made eating annoying, as unlike some of the savages here, I know the proper use of a knife and fork and enjoy feasting with them, and there's no chance in hell I'm having someone else cut my food for me so in the end I had to settle with violently attacking everything with a knife before swapping to the fork. And of course a vulture will be watching. Always watching. Waiting for me to spill or knock something over so he has an excuse to say "You alright son?" before brandishing a leaflet at me.
Now for a question, who here knows more about dislocated shoulders? I've heard some rumblings from my parents and the doctor implied serious things but was very cagey (Why? Isn't this incredibly common? Just bloody tell me!), and to be fair it's slightly worrying.
Another week before the sling comes off. Then I guess I can post in the Happy thread.
