Couldn't you have spent longer on this?!?
90 mins seems, even by your standards to short a time to spend on an extremely rare model...

Although it is pretty sweet

I was thinking about that the other day, do you think you could do a better job taking your time? Wouldn't it be worth it rather than trying to do something as fast as possible?
Nordland is really cool. They fight pirates and party on the beach. Sort of like a Disney film.

Gorgeous chap!
The oxidation on the shield looks ace!

You wouldn't mind adding a pic of his back side?

Looks nice, I do agree that I'd rather see you spend more time on these cats, the models are ace!

Cheers

Nice. And nice Skull-On-A-Strap. Maybe it doubles as a water canteen.

Maybe they thought it wasn't good enough.

ok I was a bit hasty , so added 60 mins touch ups.

Total time = 2 hours 50 mins.

Several varnish types used now also, gloss and matt.

If they don't release stuff like that, it makes you wonder what other stuff they don't release when you look at the standards of some of the models they do release (i mean how bad were the other concepts for the vampire counts spirit hosts, those were shockly bad 15 years ago, now in finecast :-p)

Btw, top class paint job! I wish i could paint to those standards in twice the time you take!

I've been viewing this topic since arriving on this forum and didn't want to comment until I had viewed every page. There's no doubt in my mind that this plog, blog or topic is epic. I haven't seen anything else, at such a scale with such dedication on any other forum. Awesome work Mr Chumley Warner, thanks for sharing and inspiring.

Thanks mate, I got back into the hobby 2 years ago, after leaving it aged 16 (i'm 33 this year). I was looking for something as a stress reliever.

I had no idea that I would become a speed painter,  using a hair dryer, start playing warhammer, find such a nice forum and generate a large PLOG, and meet some nice people!

lol

I like him!

I don't find him Empire-y, but the unusual heraldic colours and the strange verdigrised metal makes me wonder: what world does he belong in? Is he even human behind that closed helmet? He has a really cool and evocative fantasy-feeling about him. So, please tell us, Chumley:

What's this guy's story?

He is old school Empire, when the Empire army was full of ultimate badasses and not the shoeless gimps it is today.

I have a regiment of swordsmen like him.
We go to gain a little patch of ground that hath in it no profit but the name.
