Jokaero, Gyrinx, Death Ferret, and More From Rogue Trader!
« on: November 05, 2011, 09:45:57 PM »
After having rufus post this link ...

http://www.solegends.com/citrare/gyrinxetc/40kgyrinxetc.htm

... I'm familiar with the Jokaero because of it being re-introduced via the current Grey Knights codex.

However, what can folks provide about the other two, from back in the Rogue Trader era of the game, and were there other things like this :icon_question:

I've got it, what do you want to know?
There are 40 different shades of black, so many fortresses and ways to attack.

So why you complaining!

Go the Rogue trader book out of the loft.

Other assorted animals that caught my attention are:

Crotalid - space crocodiles
Grox - space large reptile cattle (angry cattle)
Enslaves
Vampire
Wasps that take over your brain, pys.... something
horses
catachian devils and face eaters
ambulls

Lots of almost RPG rules. A huge scenario campaign generator is the best bit. The fluff doesn't sit with cannon fluff very well. Leman Russ wasn't even born until M32.

Grox are still around, I play the Dark Heresy RPG and they're basically the mainstay meat source of the imperium.

Catachan Devils still exist too, at least in the background.

That's what i thought. I made a grox shed for my agri world terrain set last night. From plastikard and plastic rod. Looks the business. It all fits with the theme of my new marines.

Ohh, terrain pictures! Show us some when it's done!

Here's also a picture of a Grox if you want to include some in your farm (I don't have the RT rulebook, so I don't know if they're depicted there)!

I really want to see the grox shed.
I don't care about the rules.

Pass the machete.

That is the pic from rouge trader and the discription.

Others in the book are:
Crawlers - like the film tremors
Cthellean cudbear - a purrple shaggy polar bear
Ferro beast - a 2m armadillo that eats metal
Ptera squirrel - flying blood drinking squirrel killer
Mimics - shapechanging monkies
Floaters - exploding floating plants
 And more.

Will get a photo up tomorrow

Oh I miss the old RT fluff and its surreal beastiary.

Not so much the rules, which were decent, but still had an unfinished feel to them.

Ok, I lost track of who above posted this link: http://www.somethingawful.com/d/dungeons-and-dragons/rogue-trader-returns.php?page=7
But thanks! That stuff had me cracking up!

Quote
"Steve: Autumn. Oatmeal Can City. War has arrived.

Zack: Back in those days everyone was playing their games in the hallways of shopping malls.

Steve: This was probably at some hotel conference area. Whatever bog people version of Holiday Inn they have in England."
Thanks, that was HILARIOUS stuff! And as much as I love Rogue Trader, and revere the book and the time it was around, I have to confess to being somewhat thankful that they did not totally run with every idea that threw in there!

Zack: All you really need are skulls.

Steve: And churches.

Zack: And axes.

Steve: And spikes everywhere.

Zack: And morbid, melodramatic names like Bloodhammer Skullkrieg.

Steve: Holy crap! Warhammer 40,000 is now a black metal band.

Zack: They prefer to call it "The Hobby."
