Beautiful work, but I still refuse to play Warhammer with round bases, however good minis look on them! Keep it up though :D

i know...took me quite a while to come round to the idea. hehe. But honestly, i think the only benefit is the freedom in modelling. Also, age of sigmar is built for it, so its more comfortable ingame to have circles.

Also, you have done a beautiful job. I love all the subtle little conversions or bit swaps here and there to make all the models unique. Also your freehand bull and other bits and pieces are really well done.

Your style really appeal to me. You seem to put great effort in the details that matter the most, like banners for example. Your highlights are also very spot on. Great stuff! Would you mind sharing how you go about with base colors, shading and highlights?

Wow! those look awesome. That is one advantage of AoS: you can put more work into individual models when you don't have to paint 40 of them.

Not a bad idea. I'm  building a blog at the moment with a new mounted free guild general on the way. I'll do a step by step on the painting style with the general model.

Simply though I undercoat black, then paint over in 3:1 rhinox and skag brown as a base. I work up from there washing the model in watered down rhinox hide regularly.

Thanks for sharing! A guide would be most welcome. I will definitely try it out if you do.

new general on horseback im working on.

Head is from the chaos warrior box, horns and earrings shaved off.

Ive tried to keep the fur texture simple and directional. I think it looks clean enough.

Some work left to do on the joints, as well as fastenings for the cloak. Still thinking of the best way to do that.

Edit: Also, the left arm will be holding the reigns. Ive sculpted a bit of greenstuff under the shoulder as a rebate for the arm joint. Ill be able to pop that arm off when im ready to paint and glue it back afterwards.

just from the empire general kit.

I just cut the top and warped it slighty allowing me to have it flowing to the right. Then i covered the hatchet job with a fur collar

very nice, I am not sure that I like the horse head comet addition, but I will reserve judgement till you are done, if you paint it as well as other figures it will be magnificent.  steveb

Hrmmm ok I kinda agree actually. It's a bit much. I need to pop it off to clean up the horses helmet a bit more, I'll  try some other designs.

I don't mind it. If its sharp, it gives the horse some extra menace when charging...

That was kind of the idea, like a grandiose charging spike

New wizard attached to the main post, but here is the sculpting work on a new warrior priest based on Karl Kopinskis old sketch of luthor.

Continue like this, and there isn't much jaw to drop here anymore...

Love these photos during the work and before painting. Immensely helpful. I think you shine in choosing and positioning the bits you use. This doesn't take away from your greenstuff skills, but you really make the proportions and poses of the ordinary figures and bits shine!
