Human beings often have tunnel vision,

people think they have created something good, or are good at something, but fail to see the mistakes, or that they missed something crucial.

You get wrapped up in your own ideology too easily .

I like criticism, it gives you insight into how to improve

I've never really had much experience painting gold armour

so I tried Bestial Brown + Shining Gold + Red Wash as a base, then Gryphon + Babac washes, then yellow + shining gold highlights, adding white upwards

Whar really could help is if you create something bulky up in front of him....a shield or another big and chunky device and put some reins on it ...those reins you could put in his empty hand.

I think the sword might look better as another color, it kinda gets lost in all the armor when you look at it from the side. Very excellent painting however, I hope one day to be near this good.

Getting better.  The initial adjustment of the rider position was well done.  Looking forward to seeing how he works up!

Yup, the colouring on the armour is making it look better and the sword change really helps too.

I have to admit, I too feel like it is just missing some reigns, especially as his hand is kinda out there not doing anything. The difficulty would be where  they'd attach on the dragon. Not seeing a really obvious choice, though maybe a 'bit' like on a horse mouth could work...

I'm really impressed by how you listened to the suggestions made on this board and altered the figure to make it look a lot better than it did only a couple of hours ago! Extremely nice painting and modelling, allmost makes me want to create a thread of my own and show of some leopard company helberdiers and other weird things=)

zambucca is the best spirit ever made,

it's aniseed tasting, and for some reason I can drink lots of shots of it without too bad an effect,

round here my mates call it the ''elixorum vitali'' , had to be there for that joke

The model is much improved after your alterations. I wouldn't have been able to pin down what I didn't like about it first time around, just that it seemed 'unbalanced', but now it looks good. I like fantasy models to still look like they would 'work' in a physical world.

An excellent addition to your fine collection. Will he be fielded in battle?

Ahh you beat me to mr cw! When that dragon first came out I thought it would be cool to model as the imperial dragon, but oh well yours looks better anyway, and Im really impressed with how it has turned out so far.

One thing though, why would young KF have a beard and the regular KF shave it off?

I think it would be neat putting the chain around the dragons lower neck right where you can visibly see the glue and mould lines then placing a shield over top! I think that would look great! Anyways love the brazen armor and the bold purple shows courage incredible work; I hope to one day become as good a painter and modeler as yourself!

Cheers,
Pete

Yep, i've told Brian that the postman didn't deliver the rider in time for our xmas battle, lol

That means he will be surprised when my 4K pts includes KF on Dragon!

Do you think KF on Dragon can hold up 50 Orcs single handed?

I expect he will take 5+ wounds from them per turn at least , runefang, dragon attacks, and mega stomp,

Try someplace like Michael's or Hobby Lobby (Not sure what they would be called over the pond, a craft store of some kind) check in the jewelry making section, they often have spools of different type/color chain. Or as an alternative, you could buy cheapo necklaces from those little coin operated machines you see in the entrance of grocery stores.
