I'm semi interested in the guard one based on price. Its not a super amazing one, pretty much everything is stuff an average guard army already has mountains of, but its things I could convert into some ideas Ive been having.

The Blood Angel one is not the Xmas box but the normal Combat Patrol (the new form of Start Collecting) box

New Campaign is coming!

Quote
Typhus – wayward son of Mortarion, favoured of Nurgle, and host to the Destroyer Hive – seeks to exploit a weakened Imperium and claim the forge world Metalica for his own nefarious purposes. Standing against him are the Adeptus Mechanicus, and their epic battles will play out in War Zone Charadon Act 1: The Book of Rust. Heroes will stand, worlds will fall, and an entire system stands on a knife-edge.

Quote
There’s more than just the background of an epic war zone in here, the book also includes new rules for:

Death Guard
Adeptus Mechanicus
Imperial Knights
Drukhari
The warriors of Commorragh are keen to take advantage of the chaos and confusion caused by Typhus’ invasion. Alongside these codex supplements are rules for playing through the Charadon campaign yourself. Can you claim Metalica for the Death Guard or will you try to stop Typhus?

The Plague Purge Mission Pack allows everyone to join the fun in the Charadon war zone with a host of specific Crusade rules. Send your army campaigning through a land of rust and decay, and pick up some new relics and abilities along the way. In the same way as Beyond the Veil, this pack gives you a whole new region of space to set your campaigns in.

Along with some new codexes.

Seems interesting, although not a Nurgle fan.  And no, that's not because I just came off of covid fighting. :icon_wink:

None of the armies mentioned are ones I particularly care about, but I do like to see the expansion of the more narrative elements. I really like the Crusade mode.

Eventually I think they will, but I also think theres still a few years yet. Models like terminators and even tactical marines are still fairly iconic and the primaris havent built the same recognition.

Crap! I just got the email for The Helwinter Gate and it’s sold out already!

Also, the app has battleforge now. I don’t see a store function to buy the ebooks like Azyr though.

Looks like it was some sort of book, maybe two on Sapce Wolfs? And a bunch of gaming things, no figures. Cost here was $150. :icon_eek:

Ya! Space wolves, limited edition 364 page novel, dice, bag and things. In a previous time I would have snapped that up in a second. Didn’t even have the chance to contemplate there was a time I could do that lol.

Yep, the small release is probably bringing up the price.  Seems sort of snobbish for GW to not provide it to a wider range of players, and reduce the price.

New 40k previews. I just noticed we don't have a Kill Team rumour thread yet, but it didn't feel worth it for one thing. So plopping it here instead.

But first! New Sisters of Battle unit!

I'm not super fond of this walker baby carrier things.

and the new kill team box set, made to tie into the ongoing narrative campaigns as well.

I'm sick of space marines but at least all these I can convert into Deathwatch. The Necrons look great though.

A little tired of the non stop space marines but at least we knew this one was coming. I actually like this combat patrol box. Feel like it could be converted into deathwatch real effectivly.

Ok, so have had a few days to go over the new Death Guard Codex, and have a few questions:

1 - So, no more daemon summoning? I never used it before, because it just didn't make sense in matched-play games, but didn't see any rules for it in the new 'dex.

2 - Cultists. Why take them? No Objective Secured, not CORE, no special abilities/Plague Company stuff, no stratagems, nothing. Only a rule that says you can't take more than you have Bubotic Astartes. Cheap secondary objectives?
So, what would you guys do if some dude came at you with a belt that way?
Make sure I've got the safeword memorised.

I can't speak about the cultists, but I've heard from all my chaos buddies that the Daemon summoning is a weird oversight. All the rules are apparently in the daemon codex, and the rules of who can do it in that book still apply to Deathguard.

Fair enough. I wonder if when the Daemon/CSM codex comes out, they have the Daemon summoning rules.

Two new sets of figures, previously only available via the Imdomitus boxed starter set, are being released ...

1. "Space Marines: Honored Of The Chapter" ...  https://www.games-workshop.com/en-US/Space-Marines-Honoured-Of-The-Chapter-2021

2. "Necrons Royal Court" ... https://www.games-workshop.com/en-US/Necrons-Royal-Court-2021

The cost is $140 US and $110 US respectively, which combined is not surprisingly more than the Indomitus boxed starter set.

New Dark Elf codex is coming out on March 20th 2021.  This was originally scheduled for January, but it seems perhaps the Brexit and Covid combo are slowing things down currently.

They got a leader named Drahzar who has been buffed and point cost goes from 105 to 135.  The Venom vehicle has also been slightly buffed, but in a world where Space Marines now have 2 wounds, these kinds of things are probably needed.
