I cannot represent how I feel with words right now.

Instead, I will use icons: it's a mixture of  :icon_cry:  :eusa_wall:   :eusa_clap: and  :biggriin:
Now go! Ride towards the sun atop these noble steeds
You're our spandex heroes, now fullfil your destinies
And so we turned and rode beyond the castle walls
with shiny codpiece armour that doth cradle our chivalrous balls

I return to this forum every month, and what a topic to chose! I too am Ostland and I can proudly say that even Valmir would be satisfied with it! I myself would most definitely move to live in if it were real, though as a terrain piece it trumps just about everything else I've ever seen...

In this case, I suggest you charge an entrance fee.

You really have an eye for details. I love your way of painting.  :eusa_clap:

If I had the time, that would be the dream. You can see from earlier posts that I have a few other buildings to go around the mansion to create a stronghold. This will be put on the back burner with the castle as I want to focus on creating a complete gaming table. This is planned to be an urban table, I want to create something different from the standard 'green' table. I have the plan and the designs for the separate elements. It will be based around a monument square so as not to be too cluttered for a game. The centre of the square will house the monument of Osvalde, featured earlier in this post. The square will be sunken into the ground making the flanks higher level, hills, these are accessed via steps. On theses raised areas are situated buildings and a triumphant archway entrance. There will also be planters with trees to add some greenery. I intend to make fountains and other smaller monuments/statues to add to the open areas. It's a grand project, all I need now is a stack of time. All progress will be documented here and I may create some video files on techniques used.

Yesterday saw no progress as I went to my graduation ceremony, was good fun, got to dress up in a cape and silly hat again. Sounds superheroesque but so isn't. Today I was back bling again, working on finials. Here's an action shot.

First sketch for the urban table. All elements are modular and moveable. The left hand side will possibly mirror the right hand side. The table consists of two raised sections and two lower sections. It measures 8' by 4' but about 1' on each end is covered in buildings creating a playable area of 6' by 4'. This is extendable by adding another lower 2' by 4' section in the middle making a 8' by 4' playable area. This will also make it less cluttered in the middle and enable me to include the larger monument to Osvalde, featured earlier.

What do you think? Do you have any suggestions or tips on what makes a great gaming table? Hopefully I will be able to incorporate some suggestions into the final design and finished piece.

Just realised that I hadn't posted the design for the larger Osvalde monument. This would be used with the extra 2' by 4' flat section in the middle.
Monument of Oswalde the Bull of Ostland.

Also, another future project.
The Celestial Wizard's Observatory.

Inspirational stuff! Might be stealing ideas very soon... :)

Truly impressive, modelling and painting.

Here's a maquette for an empire mausoleum. This can go as high as you like. The idea behind this is that it looks like the mountain peaks of the Empire. Each entrance leads into a separate burial chamber, the higher the status, the higher up the mauseleum you are, less likely to be robbed or desecrated. It's kind of like a fortified burial ground. This maquette was made to see if my designs would actually work, and they do. The final design is in the shape of an imperial cross. It is topped off with the Monument of Oswalde.

While the mausoleum looks cool, I'd think there needs to be more space sideways and height wise or they would run into trouble with the actual crypts behind the doors. The walls and ceilings wouldn't be very strong with space you are allowing for there.

Here's a vid I made whilst working on the burgo mansion. This was my first attempt in going through the painting techniques used.

Now working on some hanging banners for the Mansion. These two illustrate the Burgomeister's nickname of 'charging bull'. I like the bull image, found it on the interwebs, however I think the banners look a bit too clean, a bit of weathering is needed. What do you think?

dang, nice  :::cheers:::

the whole idea of building some amazingly detailed building is too much for me, I can see it would destroy my life!

I'd be there at 4 am painting window panes !
