About the beastman head... I used a brettonian archers body with a little dagger on it so he could use that dagger or maybe he cut the head off by that beastmans axe, I dont know. I ll ask him...  :biggriin:

New uniforms for the army
« Reply #30 on: November 17, 2008, 03:34:33 PM »
Hi again. This weekend me and my brother decided to give my brothers empire army new final look. (Yes, to this painting blog post pictures two people, that s why some models are painted little different. I m actually playing Tomb Kings army.) So after some discussion we both painted some prototype soldiers still in Averland colors. Instead of using citadel inks we now paint details by outlining and highlighting. We also changed bases. Instead of green, they are snake bite leather colored now and covered with some gravel. So we will by very happy to read some comments and critics if you like or dislike it. Enjoy this photos...

This is the one I painted...

..and this is my brother s one.

I know that this is Empire forum but here is photo of my tomb king I ve painted in the meantime..

Hah, those handgunners remind me of the example Averland color scheme figure from the 6th edition Empire book.

The white socks/lower pants really helps break up the strong yellow and black color scheme.  Glad to see you did it, as it helps make them look better overall in my opinion (like how I am doing my Nordland figures).

Thanks for comments. Painting those socks looks great but on some models it is sometimes dificult to find out where the socks start...
Now I m affraid we will past next few years by repainting all old models

For those legs, I just paint it white, up to below the knee joint, as seen here:

Not so much are they socks, but just the lower part of the pant legs.

The paint looks a bit thick on some parts, the flesh on the second handgunner, but other than that great work! Awesome wood grain!

Averland Army by Silvero (The Witcher and some others)
« Reply #41 on: February 15, 2009, 09:03:33 PM »
Hi. Here I post some pictures of models I recently converted or repainted. I spend some time making miniature of The Witcher inspired by novels of Andrzej Sapkowski.

Another miniature is my WIP Witchhunter

I started repainting my handgunners some time ago, so this what I have done so far

This is one of the swordsman I am working on, he is actually recruited from ranks of my militia because I am not so fan of new state troops miniatures and old ones are too hard to get for me

First of my Nuln crossbowman

...and finally all of them together

Thanks for all your comments.

Yeah I love this empire spearmen from Empire vs. Orcs starter set. Easy conversion, just switch hands.
I am also working on same model of halberdier.
