The way you've cropped the picture of the blind rider with the spear/banner, he looks like he's wielding a large yellow light saber!

I apologize for not uderstanding what you mean,  I can't see any fault there.

I had been debating wether or not I'm going to paint my horses for my unit of Pistoliers with a Piebald color scheme, but your Outrider has convinced me that it will look good. I'm definitely going with that for their horses.

No, the sword is not sculpted on the cloak, it is a separate part.

Thanx. Ah, the battles, yes, the battles are something we shouldn't forget about. I have won several times with my Empire army against the chaos hordes, and so have they. It is all part of the bigger plot that is taking place in the lands of the Empire. Ill elaborate over this in one of the future posts.

It is a very rewarding feeling, to paint a piebald pattern on the horses. In my eyes, this pattern should be reserved for the special units, like pistoliers for example, deffinitely. Before I started to paint I researched a bit over the internet, there are many nice photos of them.

Here are some more pics of him:

Cheers.

Piebald horse are for gypsies and such like. Not really suitable for nobles of any level. They are hardy but not really fluffy for nobles. DOW light cavalry yes.

Nice paint job though
There are 40 different shades of black, so many fortresses and ways to attack.

So why you complaining!

I started to build and paint the swordmen from the battallion box. I have reiksguard command to lead tehm.
Some WIP progress on the BB. Plume and details not ready yet. I'm not sure about the collors of the plume. I don't want just to repeat teh yellow and blue.
And keep in mind taht grainy surface is not due to too thick paint, but due to uneven surface of the mini, which I tried to smooth as much as I could.

That is one smokin' banner bearer!  Well done!  The colors are solid and well-placed.  I'd consider painting some of the piping, especially around the shoulder pad, gold to make it pop a bit.  Great model, though, with great paint!

Thanks,........... I firstly didn't intend to make the mini look too elite. He is with the swordmen, so he wears 'ordinary' full plate, no fancy stuff. He is a veteran of sort so he is allowed to take some extra from the armoury.

But in the end it looked too plain and so I painted some rims with gold afterall. Still don't know about the colours of the plum, I might wait for the whole unit to paint all at once.

Thanx...I know I'm probably one of the slowest painters on this forum, maybe I shouldn't post wip pics in the future...better not to tease, heh.

I try not to invest too much time in one rnf model, but it's hard to resist al the details on them, I have to paint them at least half decently and that takes time. Besides I work on one model a time and try to finsh it first, before going onto second one. Somehow I hate working in batches.
But, now that you mentioned it , I'll work 10% faster.

I traded these guys for some OOP spacemarines - I got them allready painted this way. This bought me some time, before having to paint another unit of them myself.

Now I have to select one of these unfineshed troops and enter him in the painting competition. Tough choice.
