Kemperbad (asses)
« on: March 21, 2011, 07:33:01 PM »
Just for Mathi, here is the grand total of 5 unbased (and shieldless) models for my soon to be growing Kemperbad army.

The shields are all going to be slightly different in design but will look something like this

Excellent. They still don't look like Altdorfers.
I agree with the inhumane treatment of animals.

Cheers Patsy. Dont blush Mathi, I intend to make an exact replica of you to be the armies general and then use it to assume your identity at the eurobash (which Im not actually going to.)

The painting competition gave me the incentive to actually paint something this month and here is the result. I have also half completed another 4 swordsmen although the previous 4 unbased ones from the top of the page remain, well, unbased. Very slow.

Very nice! I like the woodgrain effect on the telescope.

Thanks Gnu.

I forgot to mention in the above text that I used a white undercoat for the engineer because it had been undercoated white when I bought it and Im too lazy to take ot off. I've only used a white undercoat a handful of times in the past and this reminded me why! It felt like a bit of a drawn out process painting over white but Im quite pleased with the end result. Now, back to black!

Me too.

On second thought, I think the white undercoat works even better with your colour scheme, IF. The colours are so much brighter with it.

But I agree that black is much faster.

Thanks men. Hopefully I will paint more than one model over the next month, although with this amazing weather I doubt it. Quick qurstion, can you still see the photos in this thread? They seem to have disappeared for me...

Cheers man. To be honest Im sick of the sight of that army which is why Im doing this. I've got a Lizzies army as well which has been getting more love than the Talabheim lot so I wanted an Empire army I was happy with. The standard of painting on the Talabheim army is a bit inconsistent and you see Talabheim armies everywhere so Im much happier with this project already.

That's fair enough, but although Talabheim was a bit vanilla, yours just wasn't quite as bland. No one could say that about this colour scheme though!  :icon_lol:

What have you got planned? Lots of infantry? Or a bit of a mix? I don't know the background to Kemperbad or even whether you intend to theme them to it, but I still eagerly anticipate any updates.

Pictures are working fine too  :icon_wink:

Great stuff there... but was anyone else expecting something totally different when they read the title in brackets?  :engel:

Celestial Wizard. I was lazy and used the flash instead of setting up my lamps so the picture doesn't do it that much justice. I will get better ones at some point. The highlights are nowhere near as harsh in real life. The eagle eyed among you will notice I am being lazy and painting characters before making any headway on core choices... I will have to get myself in gear.
