Looks great! :icon_biggrin: :::cheers:::

Although hope there isn't too much of a recoil on it, because it might veer to one side all the time with those unequal guard plates in the front.

I bow to your superior knowledge of ballistics GP – the guard plates are based on the British 6Pounder which did good service in the Desert so I’m sure it’ll work fine

I used the unused tracks from the Taurox to make a mobile platform for a gun. Having decided on a single lascannon I felt this was a little unimpressive so added the other two. While researching the infantry gun I got the notion that lascannon were in theory single shot weapons and that they had to have their power packs changed after each shot. With this in mind I built a large solid base for the guns so that they could store more power packs.

As my group are a support unit I then built a generator so that the power packs can be recharged.

Well far be it from me to argue with British success! :icon_cool: :::cheers:::

As many of you will have realised over the years I only build one of each thing so the previously shown Infantry Gun was my planned Wheeled Gun for this project.

Having looked at it for the past few weeks on my desk it just looks a little insignificant - so I created this.

For scale the wheels are 3cm tall.

A Walker/Sentinel – a bit basic, assumed to be a civilian version with weapons – although I don’t think the rules let it have the twin heavy bolters.

Re: The Apatoa Pahure Pioneer Corps - Third Tractor
« Reply #57 on: October 03, 2020, 01:04:04 PM »
This third tractor is the power unit for the crane from the Servohaulers kit – so I’ve had to find some tracks for it. It comes with a trailer built from two Ork panels. I’ll not tell you its purpose yet and doubt you’ll guess until it’s on its display base – still a long way to go in its build as I’ve not figured out how to do the next stage - definitely non-combatant.

That’s the vehicles done for now – as said in MP&SG the next part of this project is to build some crew figures, this month or next.

A set of figures to act as the crews for the recent vehicle and gun builds. Those without feathers are for the enclosed vehicles. A few need gaps filling with GS otherwise they are ready to paint sometime in the future.

Re: The Apatoa Pahure Pioneer Corps - Extra Unit
« Reply #62 on: October 22, 2020, 01:32:03 PM »
This is an extra unit to what I had planned for the Apatoa Pahure. I started them at the same time as the crew when I realised that I had enough spare IG figures left to do so. I wanted the unit to look like they’ve just come back from a long patrol and found bags and other equipment in the bits box meaning to add to them; however sticking items onto figures doesn’t always don’t look right – it’s not the same as something sculpted on so they are at present in limbo waiting finishing. The heads had berets which I changed for  tam-o’-shanters but this hasn’t worked as well as expected, the tammys are a little too small for the oversized GW heads to look like real life but are just big enough that when I’ve filled the gaps they would cover the head.

There will be minor alterations/additions to be done before they are finished which I’ll do when I I get round to GSing the crew.

So much character, as usual.

Really hoping that last tractor unit is for a works office or portaloo or similar facilities...

Good try Shadespyre but the Portaloo problem has already been dealt with in Reply #18.

Apologizes for the lack of updates but I’ve been working on my entry for the annual Legion of Legend competition at the local GW store. Last year’s competition was the catalyst which started this thread.  It is basically a small group/army of 4 items/units to be shown on a 1’sq board although I’m putting them on smaller individual display bases.

The first two categories were a leader and a unit who’s build has been shown above.

Leader and Unit

and on their display base

Wow, an IG squad with Ogryn support, quite the look going on with those, excellent. :icon_biggrin: :icon_cool: :eusa_clap: :::cheers:::

When you do things like this, you've always got so much going on with them, the details are stellar.

I just now noticed this thread and I must say, it looks really good!
Now go! Ride towards the sun atop these noble steeds
You're our spandex heroes, now fullfil your destinies
And so we turned and rode beyond the castle walls
with shiny codpiece armour that doth cradle our chivalrous balls
