Y'know, those spanish style pantaloons were a stroke of genius.  They look much better on those guys than the original slash and puff pants you were going for.   :eusa_clap:

Ok it is about time I update this blog a little  I have recently been working upon two main characters for my army. A mounted warrior priest in the form of a witch hunter general and general of the empire in the guise of a king (fluff will follow some time later). As I write this I am starting to paint them as well as hopefully finish my swordsmen unit filler

So here I present you, Marshall Gerhardt Sturm, witch hunter general of the church of Sigmar

.....and Hernan Cortez, general of the empire and 'rightful' king of the newly discovered lands, according to Imperial decree

Awesome! I love your witch hunter. Where did you get the hammer? Am I correct in thinking that the head is a bret men at arms part? Because I want to make some witchhunters myself, you see.

Yes Obi it is the bret men at arms head with a little bit of GS topping  As for the hammer, I believe it came from the chaos warrior sprue (it's a relic from a defeated foe, you see........ :icon_twisted:)

Well, since I will be off for a holiday week in London starting from today, I taught about posting new WIP pics of my two characters (alternating generals) in order to last for my week in absence  :-P I have ordered some of Imperial forge's decals to adorn them with once the painting is done. Comments on the painting scheme as well as anything else are welcomed as they keep me motivated and boost my spirits

So a little bit of an update. Unfortunately I did not have any chance to paint or convert anything new, or finish up those I started due to severe work restrictions  :|  Anyway I thought I would keep my blog living by posting a few pics of two ships I bought locally (these need some conversion work to be up to standard, especially the small cutter) & which I am working on, or trying to at least   Together with these two ships I also bought a proper sized dragon (even though it may seem a bit chaos tainted)  I hope you enjoy

The mother ship:

The cutter (secondary ship - still needs a lot of work to be done)

The Dragon

I have included one of my swordsmen for scale purposes

Your models look very nice( specially Hernán Cortés), but I have problems with two of them:
-The ogre on Rhinox is too bottom heavy. The arms and torso don't match quite well with the oversized butt IMHO
-The pegasus head on the Karl Franz horse looks a bit oversized. Maybe it's because of the huge mane, but I have the impression it has more to do with a too long neck.

I hope my advice helps you.

This is why I dislike them.

So as always it seems it takes a long time for me to post new updates to my army.  I still have had no time to paint yet but I did have time to knock up some conversions.  First up are some pikemen (these are very much WIP)

Second in line after these 'long shafts'  is the artillery batch (which I bought from therealricksalomone). Thanks Rick  :::cheers:::  These are also WIP

For those of you who have not realised yet, my empire army is based on the historical Conquistadors & the fluff for them is that the majority of them are mercenary Estalians, working in the Empire.

New updates, even though the last updates all concerned conversions rather than painting (recently I really do not have the muse for painting, I really don't know why).  Anyway for those of you who might be interested in the progress of my Estalian army (I hope there are some of you out there at least   :|), this is the king of Magritta (or my take of him).  I have a slight problem with this character which is still heavily WIP. Can anyone give me some insight upon whether or not the cross on top of the crown is unethical or even offensive in a game such as Warhammer? I really like it but cannot see a way to justify it being there (I don't want to pull it off  :icon_neutral:).  Anyway I wanted a regal pose for him, not a warrior pose, as I do not really see him as a heroic combatant type of character.  The page will be positioned as looking at him (attending him) whilst holding the horse.  I will add a quiver full of arrows to his horse & also an ornate sabre in its sheath, strapped to the back of his horse later on.  As I said I did not aim at the supper killing character look at all.  Here are a couple of pics of him (one of the pics sees him next to my other character, Cortez).  Any comments about him are much appreciated.

Could always add a little green stuff and make it in to a Fleur de lis, Bretonnian influence from the crusades etc.

Find another weapon arm for the king, it is to big.
The conversion looks quite cool, though.

Siamtiger you mean the arm or the weapon is too big? (I already cut the middle part of the mace out & in fact in the photo it shows that it is smaller than the original version)

You all think I should keep the cross? So its not offensive? In what way can I justify it? Can it reasonably stand for Theos - meaning god/diety, as it is a t symbol after all?

The elbow is to large, but the problem is the scales of the used parts. Its a mixed of truescale and heroic scale, that does not work, because it makes the head look smaller than it is.

Hmm I understand  I will see what I can do for it, either cut it down a bit or else change it completely.  What really nags me is the fact that the metal hand has a very big palm which I can't get rid of as that would mean to get rid of the bow too & that is a large chunk off the model  not to mention the hell of a job that would entail.  Thanks for the suggestion though, I think you are right.
