neat garden, need a groundskeeper raking leaves or mowing the grass (scything) maybe a skeleton crew as in the temple does not pay enough to keep body and sould together.  steveb

Rise from the dead thread.........So I am going to revive this old thread by posting something DarKnight has sent me lately as a gift.  Even if it is only partially painted, this doesn't bother me in the least especially as the painting scheme being applied to it is very nice indeed.  I really like the tiger stripes and it shows the dedication DK put in this conversion and the painting effort.  I wish to complete it in the next few months and show it off for the beauty it really is.....if only I can match the stripes and do as much of a good job as DK did   Thanks DK for such a generous and selfless gift.  I appreciate and like it lots my good friend  :::cheers:::

This griffon and its crusader rider will take pride of place in my empire/ KOW army.

Very nice minis and conversions!  :eusa_clap: :eusa_clap: :eusa_clap:

What's the source of the 2nd demi-chicken unit? Some toys converted & repainted?

In some pictures there's a very good looking wall on the background, with small crosses and such in some stones. Did you make that, or can I buy it somewhere?

Zygmund the 2nd demi chicken unit is a conversion using green stuff for armour and other small parts.  The body comes from toy lions whilst the head is a greenstuff copy from some old griffon which I do not know the maker of.

The walls is part of the outer defences of the city I have built but never got to use properly and ithey are part of an old warhammer fortress set I bought from 023.  I also have two sets of the new plastic version of the warhammer fortress which have been waiting for some paint since the beginning of time.

So you sculpted the armour? Very nice!

So who made the small detail - GW, 023, you? It's a nice idea, but probably better suitable for the old foam fortress. :-)

Yes I sculpted the armour on the demis but it was not the first attempt at doing so.  If you look further back you will notice that I did the same thing on some of my knights.

With regards to the walls, I put every detail on the red walls (in reality half of those battlements are hand sculpted by me as I wanted a bigger keep than I had) but with regards to the grey walls, that is indeed the old foam fortress.

Some more updates.  Ogres and giants, many of which are extensively converted or nearly scratch built.

Really impressive! That first giant reminds me of a cook of a restaurant I built for him.

Wow King! What an update. Where to start?

I love the myrmydia standard bearer.
Love the demigryph riderswaps.
Good converted demigryphs.
Great war altar kit bash. The heroquest wizard table is great for it.
Love love love the ogre king.
Great other ogre conversions too.
I like the pose of the second giant.

I'm sure there is more, but that requires scrolling on my mobile which risks me having to retype my post.
Very nice!

Yadoshi on the flying carpet is brilliant.

I have him, a carpet from Black Tree and a clear 'riser' put aside to do the exact same thing .............. along with a lot of other ideas in a similar planning phase  :biggriin:

Yet some more pics........Recently I took an interest in Warhammer Quest (the old version) and Hero Quest and decided to not only paint some heroes for it but also a wide array of monsters and creatures from all races for it as I have this plan in my head......I have a daughter and soon also will have a son, which I will try to hook onto the hobby through these dungeon crawlers as in fact happened to me back in the day with hero quest.   In preparation for this I am collecting monsters as well as searching for printable dungeon rooms and corridors in order to expand my collection and be able to GM some nice games with some nice miniatures and terrain for my kids, which is something I wanted by did not have back in the day myself.

Here goes....

I have been thinking the same thing King. My son just turned 3, and I am thinking how I can use Heroquest and modified Warhammer Quest to get them into it. However I am hesitant to introduce them too heavily, as I know how much of a point sink it can be, and in some ways it might be better for the long term to keep it as a daddy hobby. Not sure yet.
