Grand army of the free city of Altdorf
« on: January 29, 2024, 02:15:58 PM »
Hi all, with the coming of The Old World I've decided to start an imperial army in the glorious livery of the city of Altdorf. The first models will be a reiklander warband painted last year:

Those are looking awesome, and good choice on having yellow feathers, makes the figures look more striking, congrats! :icon_biggrin: :icon_cool: :::cheers:::

Welcome!

Love the style and the composition is solid. How many spearmen are you going for?

Love the freehand on the banner. Very impressive.

Thanks !

To paint the lion first I drew the interior lines that marked the shape of the body, arms, tail. Then I painted the outline and filled it up, the finishing touch were the strands of hair that hang from the body. I used a google heraldic image as reference, for my halberdier unit I want to do a griffon!

More troops for the Emperor, this time an harquebusier unit. It's nice to see again on the field these nostalgic Perry sculpts form the early 2000s, the first wargaming models I ever had!
