Warrior Priest and Engineer
« on: February 15, 2010, 03:20:15 AM »
Hey, my friends, I'm back with a Warrior Priest and a Engineer.
They are darker than my former empire army.
C and C are welcome.

Really like the WP, very...gritty.  How did you do the armour?

One thing Im not so keen on is the base, though not sure if you have finished this? Looks like he's standing on some....errr, poo

Great!

I agree that the bases are bland though, and also the warrior priest's robe appears to need some more contrast.

The engineer is amazing, I love the gritty tone. The warrior priest is lacking some darker shading on his armour though, I realise you went for brown instead of black but some of the recessed areas (to the left under arm, i.e. the model's right for example) lack deep enough shadows as befits the rest of your impressive painting.

Enjoyed both.  The WP looks like he just finished with his foe.  The engineer doesn't seem to like what he sees above.

Very nice, very nice indeed. More contrast on the WP's robe would really be nice though...
and glue some grass on the base (and maybe a chopped limb for the WP?)

Thanks, my friends.
Yes, The came from Altdorf . The two men are not finished ( the base as you see and some details). A chopped limb maybe too bloody, so I will choose grass. And I will check the shadow place in a good light day to add some darker colors.

The armor I treated with gunmetal grey and chainmail, then washed with brown color at the shadow part.

very good painting, the bases arent so bad to my way of thinking, as though a lot of mud was churned up during a fight, it wouldn't all be nice and grassy all the time, maybe when seen together in units it would come together better than single minis. I like the earthy gritty tones you used, keep up the good work!
