Heh, I bought a blister of those spearmen together with the 6th edition stating box(?) when I started up my first Empire army, should have bought more of them! Still missing two of the four sculpts, otherwise have everything in the sale, so yeah, quite overpriced, but I figure the Marauder Reiksguard is worth a lot.

Don't see them for sale that often plus the large number of them would create a high price but even so that's incredibly high. Someone obviously wanted them badly

Does anyone know why they are referred to as Ersaltz /Ersatz on some ebay listings?

Edit** just found the answer myself, looked at some of my 4th ed plug foot soldiers and they have Ersatzsolder on the tab (Ersatzsolder - Militia drawn from urban areas. Can be armed with halberds, spears or pikes)

Might sound nuts but I am basecoating using 100% Tausert Ocre, and for various reasons it's the best depth inducing base coat effect i have found,

I've got a few of those - I just think they weren't that popular a weapon choice when they came out originally.

the Marauder model with greatsword was already painted, so i touched up ..

The others I speed painted, each 60 mins ish.

I've got est ~ 500 to get through to complete every empire model ever made, so need to hurry along !

How'd you do your yellow? I'm trying different ways, but it's only coming out "ok" rather than "good". Of course, that might just be because I can't paint worth a carp.
