I'm not completely sure what counts as "the red period" but i really like the 4th ed. Empire stuff. The knightly orders, reiksguard foot knights, greatswords, and loads of individual models were great! I don't even mind that bright red colour they used. But that's when I started WHFB so I might be a bit nostalgic.

didn't the Empire stuff come out at the very end of third edition?  You could almost argue that they are not red period junk.

I also have 4th edition nostalgia brain washing.  I love those paint jobs.

He seems to be dressed like an Irish Kern.  I'd call him a mercenary from Albion.

As for the wiz on whirlwind, damn that's an awesome old model, I've never seen that before.

Have you managed to track down a Nuln spearman, Chumley? He appeared in a WD ad I believe, but was never seen again...

That's what I thought; an old wives' tale probably. Didn't know #5 was in the same league... what's his story, do you know?

The halflings are awesome. I've always been a fan of them.

Love the sculpting on the face of the halberdier. It just screams he's not someone to mess with!

regarding white dwarf 90 Fighters, 5 and 11 ... from the mouth of a true collector

============

''Dont even bother tracking these down - its not going to happen. There are certain figures that due to slip-ups at the
time never made it into general release. Not really by intention but more by accident. Sometimes images of these
figures appeared in adverts (as in this case), sometimes they didnt. "Rare" doesnt even begin to describe them.''
