I dislike you now. I am trying to slowly build a halfing army.

Congratulations!  :-)

Our's is starting the 5th month... Probably meaning the end of most other mini-things for some years...

my experience (son 2 years of age, daugther 6 months) is that you need to adapt to af more unreliable enviroment, but i actually re-entered the world of minis some months after my first child was born.. Its very doable!  :D

I'm picturing rocking a cradle, whilst painting next to it?  :::cheers:::

or can you buy mechanical cradles / cots which rock for you?

A good painting station is a most, and you can easily rock the cradle with one foot while painting.. Also of  importance, in a year or two you really want to move everything to at least 5' above the floor. Toodlers are strangely attracted to painted miniatures.
Also, you might have a harder time convincing your wife that 5000 point battles are a must; we do 1800-2500 points as they more easily fit in the family schedule.

It's not the end of mini-things for years. I've got two and while I slowed down, it definitely wasn't the end. It seems Chumley has found something more expensive than collecting old Empire miniatures though! Congratulations.

If taught properly you don't have to put your miniatures up high. I've never had a problem with my 4 year old playing with any of my miniatures. As a matter of fact he almost never goes in my game room without me being in there too. He knows they are off limits without question. Now writing on the walls is another thing all together. Other than my game room, I don't think there is a wall in our house that he hasn't written on.

@Chumley: I agree with Commander Bernhardt. Are there any cheap hotels near ya?

lol I need to complete the collection and create a museum,

on a positive note, with recent purchases which are in the post now, i am 2 models away from collecting every Citadel Norse/Viking/Barbarian model ever made, including the 2 uncatalogued mounted barbarian raiders.

It's a cool model, but that Griffon just looks really small these days!

Agreed !

It also looks a bit weedy , like a Turkey mixed with a Lion rather than an eagle!

Really nice tiger stripes. Tongue = pink. Very pretty base. I would have painted the crest and shield emblem in gold, but green is unexpected and interesting.

As usual:  :eusa_clap:

'90s? Surely that's the 2000s one from 6th edition!

I think it's the best griffon model. Better than the ugly fat chicken before it, and much better than the even uglier and even fatter chicken that was released for 8th!

Yeah I really like this Griffon, great miniature and paintjob. This one and the Griffon from Island of Blood are my two favourites  :::cheers:::

Not a fan of the new one, huge body and peanut head  ::heretic::
