Nice run of models recently CW, loved Felix and that Barbarian.  :eusa_clap:

I gave my spiky Psychohobbit to my mate so he could use it as a pet Gnoblar for his Ironguts, it looks much more likely there! Have you got the other one, which looks like a barbarian toddler?

Yes, he's supposed to have a dartboard/archery target as a shield...

GW 87' ..

It's one of the rarer fighters.

I like the fact that they modelled some of the early fighters on 16th century armour and weapons

it's strange how e bay plays such tricks ,

some rare  models go un noticed and you get a bargain,

others come up once in 2 years and you get caught in a war of bidding !

i got a few treats for next to nothing earlier !

I like the boils/weeping sores on his face, he looks like the village idiot, a great lumbering oaf they've conscripted into the local militia.

Great mini, I love seeing stuff I've never seen before  :::cheers:::

I LOVE those militia. Maybe this is the thing that finally drags me into the realm of trying to get a hold of OOP figurines?

Take a look at Lead Adventure
They really capture the spirit of the old militia but are new, shiny and easier to get

Ok so my methods are controversial , but i can paint 10 models to a good standard in 4 hours flat.

Stage 1 . Skull White spray.

Stage 2. Balor brown / water 50/50 base coat.

Stage 3. Wash using Blue+Red+Brown+Black GW washes, + 50% water.

Stage 4. Base with Sand.

Stage 5. Paint bases.

Stage 6. Purity seal the whole lot.

You can see that the depth already achieved is quite nice. Overlaying thin colour base coats actually can use the shadow already built in,
