Beholden thine eyes upon the Most Extravagant and Fearsome Grunburg Defensive Regiment under the finest Generalship of Baron Ruprecht von Einsambaum, finest example of the noblebred warriors Reiklands' women can produce and defier of any threat that may present itself to Grunburg and the realm of His Holy Majesty Karl-Franz.

Oh, and it's not bloody Stirland, the colours are bright and vibrant and everything them grubby, swamp dwelling peasants are not!

I suppose the point of this is motivation, I am perhaps the slowest painter known to man, elf and dwarf. It takes me perhaps 12 hours to paint a rank of 10 so hoping I will get over my procrastination and get this into order.

So, without further ado:

The Baron

The Grunburg Greatswords

The Halberdiers (so far)

Aaaand the Crossbows and Father Kellner

I have all in all about 3500 points sitting here assembled waiting, interminably waiting, to feel the caress of paint and I hate playing with unpainted models so GOGOGO.
Excuse the lack of flashy pictures but my camera's kind of crap. Hopefully I'll get something sorted come next game.

They look really good.

Could we have a close up on the cool WP. I get the impression he didn't shave this morning. Nice touch, if so.

I shall take a close up soon (next couple of days) once I get this current rank finished.

Them Stirlanders of course, alot of folks in store kept asking me if it was Stirland or Reikland I was going for.

Why'd you call 'em "zombie-hugging peasants"?! I thought Stirland actively fights Sylvania - when it can raise the troops!?! 'Course, it doesn't help that Stirland's army gets paid peanuts compared to rich provinces like Ostermark or Talabecland.....

12 hours for 10 men! That's the fastest time I've ever heard of!

amazing

I usually take 30 hours for 10 min, and consider that i always rush

Ask yourself , what is real? 5 sense filtered reality is a very limited perspective.

Sorry I've been gone and that promised close up of Father Kellner's a bit late but alas, busy weekend of drinking and gigs.

Without further ado a rather blurry close up (I need to get a better camera and/or stand)

After looking at him I realised I really could do with a few more licks of paint and a few washes. Maybe later.

I'm sure they provide an adequate defence against the old Counts of Sylvania but I as a noble Reiklander finds their vicinity disturbing :P

And Mr Warner, your 30 hours shows. I don't have the patience to keep that pace up for hordes upon hordes of troops.

Wait, it takes you 12 hours to paint ten guys... that well? How fast are you? thats pretty darn good.

Though I suppose I have handicapped myself with choosing 4 colours for my empire army. And red/white and blue/yellow combinations wasn't the smartest I believe.

I thought 12 hours was forever when I worked out how long it would take to complete a horde.
That time frame is horribly rough though as I tend to get sidetracked by Bakebook and buggers trying to speak to me about non-Warhammery things  :icon_evil:

Now, what I've done; nothing much completing the base and second rank. Banner is still not finished but I'm saving that for last to get designs drawn up and whatnot.

And some 6th edition boyos I found from my old Undead Empire project from back when they were 15 quid for 20 troops.

Think I'll go treat myself to some Reiksguard or Wizards tonight.

Been away for a while  (wow, May? Really?) with a mix of WaR (14 days free, why not?) and WoW.
I have not been idle however for Grunberg has recieved aid in the form of representatives from the Colleges of Bright and Light with an escort of Reiksguard.

Without further ado, first allow me to introduce Pyrus Embertongue, Bright Wizard Representative and Magic Advisor to General von Eisanbaum:

And Hierophant Frederik von Hohenheim, Light College Representative and adviser of all things spiritual (religion notwithstanding):

A (sort of, hard to get my crap picturetaker to focus on it) close up of Von Hohenheim's Treatise on Hysh and the Grand Shining: A Tome of All Things Concerning the First Magics and How to Effectively Wield Them Against the Foes of Order:

And a 'group' shot:

The Lances of Karl-Franz Reiksguard contingent:

I did notice, after pictures were taken, the prominence of some mouldlines on the horses but bugger it, I'll fix it later.

One last note before I get laid into the Swordsmen; Some of you may notice a lack of conversions and anything overly interesting. Well, the reason for that is that I had a Vampire Counts army in the pipeline 6 or 7 years ago however me being the ambitious lad I am overdid myself and, in short, I'm awful with conversion plus the whole project was too expensive so I opted for an army that I could paint to a grand standard and play away with.
Perhaps when I get this army done I'll start on fancy Imperial conversions.

Anyways, enjoy and I may even become more active on this forum (I lack the ability to be overly social on forums).

I like the red eyes of the fire wizard. Kinda makes him look like he's right in the middle of a nasty spell.  ::heretic::

Thanks Gregourious
Finishing off first rank of the swords here, pics up tomorrow probably.

Also got given a Steam Tank (yes, given, unassembled) so I'm looking forward to getting that painted up nicely next.

This threads already turning into a complete image dump so time for some more. Took some pics of my newly finished swords (first rank, same old with the banner) and a garrison shot.

Without further ado:

Now for some group shots:

Next up: Steam Tank just because it looks like it will be enjoyable to paint.

Well maybe not, but maybe he needs a reason to paint all this stuff? In fact, painting is the part of Warhammer I enjoy least.....

Not going to lie, I wasn't going to get one for sake of price alone when I could get more troops but a generous friend of mine gave me a free plastic one the other week and as Korehedron said, for the sake of painting it. It looks an absolute treat to paint.

how are u getting your white?

Undercoat black, Dheneb Stone (may take 2 coats to get it nice and even), a generous wash of Gryphonne Sepia and finally a highlight of Bleached Bone.
