Knight helmet with the feathers cut off. Skull deal is from a statetroops banner. and the non-sword hand is also from the knightly orders. Rest is greatswords kit.
-
Nice work! He looks rather cocky in that pose, the way he's holding that greatsword you'd think he'd confidently use it to butter his toast
-
Unit champion duelist, doubles for Mordheim duelist :)
Not the best photo I'm afraid. Bitz from statetroops and outriders.

This here is a unit fillerish sorta deal.
-
I really really like the look of your army. :smile2:
Ok...thats it...now I have to get some black and yellow Averlanders into my army. :eusa_wall:
There is just too much inspiration here.... :eusa_wall: :eusa_wall: :eusa_wall:
I like your greatsword conversions alot...I did a similar thing but with the "metal" ones.....way too much work and didnt turn out as nice as yours.
(Could someone please have GW bring back the Reiksguard knights on foot...so we can get some armour out there...)
Good job :::cheers::: :::cheers:::
-
I like the bold highlighting technique and your colour coices. Kind of "Bright and gritty"
-
So working on one of these things. The mandatory helf conversion guy.
Personally I like the way hes turning out. Done what I can with knife & glue time so now it only needs some green stuff here and there.
hmm.. You can probably tell I like fancy hats :)
-
Great pose. Good job replacing the legs too and I love that helmet. Where are the wings from that you used on it?

My Nuln Stank.
tad wip since it needs a rebase also I can't decide what to write onnit. I'm pretty happy how it turned out since I tried to give it my very bestiestest paint job I can currently pull off.
ps. suppose I aughta mention that my army consists of Averland and with Nuln artillery gunners etc.
-
Wow, what a beauty... You've done a fine job of "scratching her up" :eusa_clap:
-
:::cheers:::
-
Looking very good indeed! Nice colours and really good scratches.
-
I love how vivid you make your metals! You make me want to do more with armor
-
Steam Tank done and rebased etc.
The base.
The steam tank (still need to pin it down)
Did some additional weathering and some touch ups... I just better leave it be lest I go and f*up the whole thing :-D
-
Very nice looking base!
And good looking stank too.
-
Optimus Prime on a white field with stains of paint.
WIP Optimus. that I painted for a friend. I know its not exactly warhammer related but this is a my painting log so....
The painting is actually finished put I didn't take a picture of the finished product for reasons of stupid. The canvas is about 30x20cm iirc.
-
Transform and roll-out!
-
Curse you, I just got the sudden urge to put an autobot symbol on my STank......ooooh the possibilities of a transforming STank...SteveB, you listenin? :P
-
Optimus Prime!
Amazing.
-
I'm gonna dig out my Transformers the Movie DVD and drink 3 bottles of red wine, and watch the scene where Prime get's killed by Megatron !
lol
-
You can transform pretty well after 3 bottles of wine.
-
Kinniggiths of the Blazing sun coming! Long time no post! Been busy
Disclaimer: I'm my rush to present this preview I didn't have the best setup for taking pictures (one lamp & camera phone).

Loving those KotBS! Pimp, Sir. Pimp.
-
Oh a contender to my own KotBS soon coming up!
These are looking good! What gold paint are you using? and what base color do you run under it?
-
Excellent work!!! :eusa_clap: :eusa_clap: :eusa_clap:
More pics as soon as you have enough time to post them, pretty please! I love your painting work! :::cheers:::
-

I use those gold paints aswell, but somehow I can't get the gold to settle smoothly distributed, the pigment parts seem to constantly clutter together

Mix the paint well and try adding little bit acrylic thinner if its all globby glumby like... Metal paints are tricky!
-
Nice work! Averland colors seem to compliment Steam Tanks very nicely. I've seen several people (you included) do a nice job with them! :::cheers:::

@StealthKnightSteg
I've recently started using a wet pallet, and that has greatly diminished the "clumping" problems that I've encountered.
-
it's not the paint it self that is clumpy.. it's rather wet of it's own actually. But the actual pigments containing the color seem to contract to eachother leaving pieces uncolored with only a glossy feel to the base coat
-

I see... so the pigment ain't mixing with the thinner all too good. I'd recommend a vigorous mixing shaking scraping, really get in there...Work it like it owns you vast amounts of money and you just caught it buying an expensive pair of shoes. Also might be that there is something funny about your paint.

Sounds like a problem with the undercoat. Are you applying your metallic paint over a gloss, or semi-gloss base coat? I've had trouble getting it to lay down when I've done that. Applying gold over a flat brown base works well for me now.

Chaos Black so that isn't really the problem.. I will try to mix the paint better see if that improves it.
