This stuff is all simply brilliant. You are one of the few people who can pull off an expert paint-look while still making the model appear dirty and weathered. Its a shame youre now so far from your local gaming scene. Id expect the best painted vote to go to you every single time at tournaments.

Just when I think to myself; "lets do a plog on my Talabheim army," I see this and don't.

Great work!

Thank you so much guys!

I actually found a couple of locals (well at the nearest city, just about 90 minutes off) that are playing, so I have been getting a couple of games in with my ogres. The painted Empire army is split up between my old and new apartment. In other good news, I got a carepack from my tenant in Oslo with all my Empire bitz and most of my paints :icon_biggrin: Now I can keep painting my current projects and know there will be more miniatures to keep me busy afterwards!
I was originally planning to paint up some knights to complement my infantry (I don't think I have seen a single non-skirmishing imperial infantryman at a tournament since the release of the new book), but I think I'm going to have to get cracking on my wagons, thanks to the brilliant work done by Playonwords here http://warhammer-empire.com/theforum/index.php?topic=41849.75

Anyway, here's a WiP of what's on my table at the moment:

I had real trouble thinking up a good scheme for my metal wizards untill I saw this guy by our own Hexenjaeger:

I didn't quite manage to pull it off, but at least I gave it a shot.

Thanks for looking!

Edit: Had written "Hexenjaeger" totally wrong...

You're painting 4 characters in the same time? That's megalomaniac.

After spending last year painting 96 spearmen simultaneously, I feel qualified (and entiteled) to paint up a couple of characters:)

96 spearmen!?! I feel like I spend too much time painting individuals. I really need to crank out the ten halberdiers, thirty flagellants, and twenty free company that have been staring at me for far too long...

Well, he did say he spent the whole year painting them. :engel:

..........I probably would need two at least.

Just how many kits have you got there? I see parts from two Stanks and two Pimpmobiles.

It's roughly 2,5 stanks and 3,5 wagons. Bitz I'm trying to combine into 3 wagons.

Looks promising. Also, Durloth. Where do you live? Just...asking. Yes, asking.
It's not as if I'm going to find you and force you to paint my characters or anything. Hah. No, that'd be preposterous.
Now go! Ride towards the sun atop these noble steeds
You're our spandex heroes, now fullfil your destinies
And so we turned and rode beyond the castle walls
with shiny codpiece armour that doth cradle our chivalrous balls

I'm spending ten months in Nothern-Norway, far away from... well... everything actually. A perfect time to work on an army:)

Most of last night was needed to file away the small bumps ment to hold the shields on the sides of the hull. I know these aren't the most exciting updated (after all, we've all seen unpainted plastic before), but I'm just going to keep posting, just in case someone wants to build a stretch Stank and wants to awoid all the truble I had finding a way to do it with my first one.

Gotten a bit further. The hull have been strenghtened internally using spare lenghts of sprue and the pulpit and plinth for the statue have been magnetized for ease of transport and painting.

It looks a bit boxy now, but I have tried a couple of dry-runs with a statue in the back and a lector on the pulpit, and I think it will work out well. What I'm not so sure of is the door I have glued on the side of the hull. An arch-lector climbing the exterior of the tank to get to his pulpit didn't seem very dignified, but looking at it now the door seem very out of place...

Nice work and concept however you do not need a door as the Archlector can always use an immobile raised platform of sorts to step onto the steam powered war altar which is parked level to it before setting out to war

That is a very good point. Wish I had thought of that before I smeared the thing with Micro-Weld and slabbed it onto the hull of the tank.

Minor stupidity aside, I got quite a lot done yesterday. There is still some of GSing to do on the parts in the picture, but one can kind of see a War Altar emerging.

Can't decide on which statue to mount on the plinth. I'll post some comparison shots within the next couple of days.

awesome work with a mostly dark color scheme!
Even though you didn't asked for a notation on the personal blogs thread I did add you
