Thank you! As it happens, I have a package of steel wool lying around from some woodwork project. This should be fun.

Well that's a fantastic how to. You should post up a separate thread in the crafting section that's some of your scenery things. They're pretty awesome.

How do you think solo Sellswords is going to be? I'm curious to see any solo games for anything but I don't know Sellswords much.

Thanks. I might be able to copy some of the terrain stuff from my blog to the forum at some point.

Regarding Sellswords, it's a cooperative game that can be played solo. You play a scenario that outlines some of the basics in terms of opponents, set-up, and objectives. The enemy figures don't exactly get their own "turn" in a traditional sense. Each player character rolls up to three dice for actions. Each successful roll means they get to perform an action. Each failure results in drawing from a deck of cards. Those cards can result in actions for enemy/NPC minis to take or other scenario events (sprung a trap, etc.) NPC actions can be summed up in a flow chart of how to move & attack. Seems like a decent system, and I've been following some battle reports on LAF & a few blogs. I'll probably post a separate thread in the skirmish game subform here with my own batrep(s)

Did a bit of spontaneous painting...

Sellswords sounds very interesting. I think I’ll take a peak. That undead beastie is really cool!

Jackalope!

...and a shot with a scale reference...

I really love this figure, both the sculpt and how the painting turned out.

What is it?

I could google, but I'd prefer to hear the story of 'jackalope' and the miniature from you. :)

Jackalope's! Why they're the most feared creature on the Great Plains. Some claim they are just harmless amalgamation of hare and antelope but the truth is they are veracious flesh eating demon beasts that ride the lightning. A single jackalope can eat its way through a hundred head of steer in the span of a thunderclap.  Its right to fear the lightning on the plains for the jackalope may be coming. But all is not lost, listen for the rolling thunder, for the rolling thunder heralds the Thunderbird the natural predator of the jackalope.

Any other interpretation of the jackapole is just lies.

Looking at their web site a few more times, I've become fond of several of their minis. I just wish they were more affordable!

At some point I need this one...

The boar is from Reaper. I don't remember where or when I got the hermit. Maybe Gripping Beast or Foundry? (That's just a guess.)

I used mostly Stonehaven miniatures for my Halfling Frostgrave project. They are beautiful models, but looking at the prices (plus transatlantic shipping and customs charges) I don't know how I ever afforded to buy so many!  :-o :?

There seems to be an issue with the size of your jackalope ……………….

Perhaps its an issue with the size of a rider instead?

I like the mount, but not the rider. Nor do I like the price tag for PVC.

A bit irrelevant anyway, since new "gaming" purchases are indefinitely on hold.
