I should probably move to Australia! I've had to wear shoes and long trousers since November, because it's too cold here.

Have you ever been?
On weekends i have been in shorts since october. But that is also southern hemisphere for you.

Did i ever tell you guys the time about 12 years ago i was driving in the hunter valley, late a night with my then girlfriend (now wife) and almost hit a wombat the size of a large dog?
Actually, now that i think about it, i wonder if it was a sheep.

Rifus, our weather is also quite pleasant most of the time that wearing shorts and no shoes during winter isn't unusual.
That is surely an exaggeration. I mean, winter is not like European winter, but it's still basically single-digit temperatures...

Had to look up that word as I was unfamiliar.  But by it's definition it seems like it's the Aussie version of a redneck?

Ha! Detection confirmed!

Sort of. The nearest translations would be the american "redneck" and the english "chav", although neither quite works.

I have a "complicated" relationship with Australia, and I can't really say what my "favourite" thing would be. But the thing I'm starting to miss the most is actually summer Christmas. Which is AWESOME!

I think anyone honest about Australia has a complicated relationship with it. It's really easy to see from looking at other countries how awesome it could be if it didn't miss so many opportunities.

Ned Kelly?

I just knew it would be a link to the Extra History channel. I love all of their stuff, describing history through cartoonish characters only makes it better.  :icon_mrgreen:

I don't live too far from Glenrowin.
I remember going to see the Ned Kelly show when i was ten and my brother was terrified of some old mannequins in periodical attire

With me living in Brissie it has to be the weather (apart from Debbie!).

As a whingeing Pom, I'm loving the happy, optimistic outlook on life. Also, no joke my work has a drinks cabinet for Friday afternoons!

It's pretty much a utopia.

I've learned the Macedonian equivalent word for Bogan and have used it quite often. Its rather fun and more fitting than redneck as that usually indicates someone from a rural area.

It was heading into winter the first few weeks of April in Sydney. But this week it feels like Spring. Except for the short days. I really hate it when daylight savings end. Weirdest weather at the moment.
