Day 39 - hell’s bells.....lots of bases and dwarves losing the old squares , lots of paint ......NO GLUE!!!

Day 39 - Monday

More work on the cavalry - need greenstuffing for saddles or blankets, some mail round the upper legs, and as filler where I have glued/pinned the torso to the legs at an angle to sit them better on their mounts.
Bits of paint pots reclaiming, and a bit of work on the courtyard floor of my Coach House

Day 40 - Tuesday
Very little - couple of paint pots, and some playing with highlight colours on the courtyard.
(The wife had me running around 'doing stuff' and 'buying stuff' nearly all day.)

Hurray, I'm keeping up my every day painting. last night I also ran a 40k tutorial game with some buddies that went really well.

3 more Perry archers created. And I returned to painting the 17 spearmen, dark brown on boots and straps for the 5 Papal guards.

Also the same brown on 4 Averlander spearmen, and the Mordhiem young blood with the spear, all as part of my Aver River Regiment. I had started those 4 spearmen way, way, way back to bring my unit of 20 spearmen (including the young blood) up to 24. But like so many other items, never finished them. Although this one I blame on the change to 8th, where suddenly I would have need ed even more than 24 on the table top to have a real unit under that edition. And then End of Times, well, that just doesn't exist in my fantasy world.

So I'm back to doing some Averlanders, cahcoo!

Which means I've done painting on my Matoreans (swordsmen), my Tileans (the infamaous mounted crossbowmen), and my Averlanders (the spearmen).

Day 40 (June 9) - Minimal painting: some red details.

Day 41 (June 10) - Milliput on seven figures. Four got finished.

Also helped my kids in painting. The elder (7yrs) shows some determination - and also frustration. She's at a level where she knows what she wants, but cannot quite achieve it. She actually painted a mini for half an hour, and didn't even finish it.

The younger got paint on five minis. To my surprise, she has actually painted a raven black and given it an orange beak. Maybe her silver & pink period is over?

I have been and I'm still slogging away for 1 to 3 hours a day (sometimes more) writing the end of season campaign reports and stories. I'm solid bold for the last few weeks.

Week 6:

Friday 5th & Saturday 6th:
Finishing of the Fairy and my Slayer character. I also continued on the heroes of a long ago started Bretonian Mordheim warband.

Monday 8th:
Based and primed the first IG Steel Legion Squad.
Also I sprayed on some varnish on the finished models.

Wensday 10th:
Painted up the first member of my Steel Legion, with contrasts to see what the result will be and if I find it good

Day 42 -
“It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas “
Bases from Spain and the other 6 trolls from Ralpartha. That ups the anti for the antagonists in dragon Rampant.

Another 10 longbeards and 10 miners/warriors mix.

No worries. If it’s basing, its gonna be dead easy for me to do. Don’t think it requires a new thread.
Astogranite Debris technical base coat, dry brush tyrant skull (dry) splash some agrax earthshade into the mix. Done. On larger hero bases I’ll stamp on that prestick grass blobs here and there. As long as there’s no effort involved on my part for a base, it’s good😺

For Day 42 ... painted boots on 5 Averland crossbowmen (these guys are going to be added to my other 5), and this time only 2 Perry archers constructed, because I'm messing around with a slight conversion on the 3rd, and wasn't sure how I was going to proceed on finishing him, and thus put him away for another time.

Bits of painting, but mainly this:

OOOH Shiny.

Midlam Halflings KS arrived Wednesday Post.
"Halflings Gone Bad 2" with 8 extra minis of the Town Council 4 set

I really like Midlam stuff. They do small KS usually 10 -20 minis and the product is well sculpted (mainly Martin Baker I think) and arrives well finished.
No flash, and no mould lines.
I prepped, based, and textured these so that I came down this morning and took a file to the bases tidying up the dried texture filler and they are now in a tray awaiting undercoating.
