    If a parent unit is charged by a fear producer ,does a detachment need to test  before they charge?

  Does the result of the parent units fear test have any bearing ?

Yes the detachment must make a fear test in order to charge successfully, NO the parent units result has no bearing what so ever.

the result of the parent units Fear charge does apply when Support Charging, however.  If the parent unit fails its test, the detachment doesn't charge.  (no going it alone, in other words.)
