Topic: Kanes Company - a Nordland amphibious force for Warhammer Armies Project

So I think it is time to start presenting the new Empire army that I am building. What I had left of my old was my "trusty" mortar "Chalice of Sigmars wrath" and my old engineer Rufas Sparkfire.

But thanks to old donations from Shadowlord and Warlord together with my pile of bitz a new army is rising like a phoenix from the ashes. Nothing painted yet. I am assembling to see how much I can get out of the collection.

Heroes

Warrior priest (with a kettle hat. Points to the old timer that guess who that is  )

Hans Shattenfuerst - Battle Standard bearer

A lore of beast wizard (old chunky plastic one)

Eskarina Smith - life wizard (A mini that is meant to be somekind of medicus with plague mask)

Rufas Sparkfire - Engineer

Units

29 Halberdiers

Scarlet wolves - 24 swordsmen

12 Crossbows

12 Handgunners

10 Free company (shore partyt) with pistols

10 Free company (shore party) with extra hand weapons

10 Huntsmen

10 knights

1 mortar

I have now built some more units for my list and have added them to the list in the first post.

But what should I do next. I would be able to build a 20+ unit with a mix of of minis built from the old year 2000 state troops and Empire milita boxes.
So a rather scruffy looking bunch.

Should I make another unit of halberds and taking str4 any day or should I make a unit of ruffian swordsmen that could be my version of Blades of Manann?

Or more free company?

What rules are you actually playing? At least since 6th, Free Company were always equipped with two HW, with no options for pistols.

Warhammer Armies Project

Almost any unit ever to have been in an Empire army have rules, including halfling and imperial dwarves and ogres. No elves though.

Free companies can be equipped with two hand wespons, hand weapon and pistols, crossbows or bows.

Warhammer Armies Project is the best! Also I'd go for Halberds or something else loreful as Manann's Blades are typically hired by The Westerland/ Marienburg!
