Regensburg Army by Foalooke (11.04.10 Travel Case)
« on: March 28, 2010, 11:26:53 AM »
Hi

Because this post is the first one at this site I want to say few things ;)
First of all, unfortunately English is my second language and past few years I haven't got many occasions to use it in practise, so forgive me many mistakes which appears in my posts

In this tread I will present results of two years adventure with imperial army. At this moment I have minis for 5k battles, but in fact, about 50% of them need still some time to look good.

So now I would like to present some finished (or almost finished) minis of my Legion of the golden skull

Core units
- 15 handgunners
- 20 halberds
- 8 reiksguard knights
- 5 crossbowman's

Special units
- 25 Greatwords
- 2 cannons
- mortar

Rare units
- steamtank
- 2 hellblasters

Lords, heroes
-Elector count on griffon
-4 warrior priests ( 3 on foot and one on horse)
-Master Engineer with Reapeter Handgun
-2 Wizards
-4 Captains (One GW set, one with Great weapon and BSB with Grifon standart)

And some WIP
-   Arch lector on war altar
-   13 crossbowman
-   8 inner circle knights
-   5 outriders

And many, many models only gray or black.

Now – few words about painting. Actually I learned how to paint on this army so paint level is not very high, but I think that is enough for gaming army.
PS One more thing – my Wizard house – built about a year ago and this is my first building constructed well (in my opinion).

Welcome Foalooke! :smile2:

I would not have noticed.

You started painting with this army? If so, you seem to be a very fast learner! Nice army. I like the eagle on the Greatsword's banner, very clean painting there.

I think you could improve the army even more by painting the faces, because that's what people tend to look at first. It should be no problem with your level of skill.

In fact before I get my first imperial minis I've paint some old Chronopy/Warzone models (about 25-30). Then I started to paint for real – I read many tutorials and ask many questions before I paint my first real unit.

OK – now a little more old stuff

Dwarf House – A birthday gift for my girlfriend.

and my whole army - painted or not  :icon_confused:

Next time few words about fluff of the army and a travel bag

Really great looking army. I have also noticed several older minis.

As for your English, it is definitely working. Most of forum users (e.g. me) are not native speakers. Just keep trying, use spell check feature every now and then and you will do just fine.

You have very nice and clean style of painting, which is admirable. But some minis might use a bit of wash.

Also, I like the dwarf house very much. May I ask you where did you get that girlfriend? (kidding of course)

I will keep following this thread.

Regards,

Bedevere

INteresting model, and enjoy seeing the conversion of it.  I also like the idea of covering the horses eyes. :icon_cool:

Re: Regensburg Army by Foalooke (11.03.10 Travel Bag)
« Reply #14 on: April 11, 2010, 09:49:07 AM »
As I said before – travel bag (fluff will be next time… propably)
My first bag was the cheapest tool box filled with self cut foam trays (4x 36 infantry models)

But that wasn’t enoght – my next bag (whith I still use) is a big box (6x36 and 6x12 models) – it takes long time to find a model wide enough to place old trays inside.

Last year I realised that foam trays ale not the best way to transport minis – I decided to mangetise my army. I want to use my box (that time I start to call it in direct translation “fat cow” – I don't know the idiom in English) so I design metal shelves to transport my army. Now it looks like that

Here Are ALL my painted minis!! (and there is another level ;))

And Here maybe 80% of all my stuff

As yoou can see, my Fat Cow is much to big – I can pack inside about 5k points army and I still have some free space.
