Topic: Basing with sand

I use Bison white crafting glue to glue down my  basing materials but for some reason the sand never really sticks. For reference, I use the Galeforce Nine sand with teeny tiny pebbles in them. How on Earth (no pun intended, I assure you) do I make sure the damn sand sticks?

I use plain white school glue. Lately I have gotten into the habit of priming the models first and then gluing down the sand.

Haven't done it in years, but ISTR mixing the glue and sand into a thick sloppy goo before slapping it on.  Just having the glue underneath never worked for me.

Never had an issue using regular Elmer's glue, the school glue stuff.

I tried that. It was unworkable and wouldn't stick

Plus it is also delicious.

Can't say I have ever tried it, and won't.

I use superglue for basing sand. I don't do sand over the whole base, just in small patches.

The superglue holds well and doing small patches makes it look more interesting than walking on gravel.

White glue is not sturdy enough for this sort of thing and you lose sand over time.
